Andrew Lapping clearly knows what he’s talking about. Lets hope people take what he’s saying on board and not fall for the scaremongering of councillor jenkinson and those independent councillors who quite clearly lack the vision, experience and knowledge to be making any comments on the stadium.

It amazes me how jenkinson gets away with telling lies and never gets pulled up on it. You would think he’d have fallen foul of council rules.

Who is this Allerdale investment partnership?,Why would Allerdale council transfer owned land to another company.I am not quite upto speed on the goings on at our council, but I am confused has to why they would transfer to another partnership. It was stated it was going to be on the land beside Tesco, but, It is now said to be going beside the proposed Travelodge has stated by Rango,I think it pays to be up to speed on anything our council does thesedays but there is one thing for sure about is that they will be down on you like a ton of bricks if you are ever late on your pole tax instalments?PS:I am never late with my payments has my wife does it all.?

It’s a partnership between allerdale and IAG fund who specialise in developing land, planning etc. Allerdale have a need to create extra income because of the cuts from central government. They have surplus council owned land such as where the new hotel is to be built, and through a 50/50 partnership they will receive a payment from the partnership AIP.

A good example of this is the Lidl store in Maryport.

The council can specify a preferred use of a site for example housing, retail or leisure.

In short one has the expertise in development and one has surplus land.

Benefits are protection of services for council tax payers in allerdale, more jobs, more visitors, more business rates etc, obviously the benefits will be dependent on the use of the land.

As a footnote to the previous post.

why do the council need extra funding?

It’s because from 2015 until 2020 the council will have had its funding cut by 77% by the conservative government.

So for every £1 they had in 2015 they will have lost 77p of it in government cuts by next year.

I look forward to the political party butterfly telling us that cut is all because of the stadium, and definitely not his beloved (at the moment) Tory party, oh no siree bob, no way its them.

Be funded similar to yours but only costs 6 million

Towns needs to be built from scratch and to cater for footie and rugby where as haven will be just rugby and has the the infostrucure in place already one things for sure both are going to be very different but very welcome to both sets of fans
