Jogged 3x100m and 20x50m intervals going between the lampposts last night on my usual walking route to, from and around a local park.  Beyond the usual issues nothing bad seems to be coming up so I'm getting a bit giddy! LOL  Knocking on wood with crossed fingers.

Just as well, as I have dropped back to being a lardy tub-bucket. Albeit one who has (genuinely) managed to lose the scales whilst we had some building work going on so can't tell you by exactly how much.

However, The Pain (TM) does now finally, after several false dawns, seem to have gone. I 'ran' the Lydd 10k in 61 minutes, slower than I'd have liked but then I, like everyone else, wasn't expecting such a humid and draining morning. Lydd is normally windy and fresh. This week, I've been out for a circuit of Alexandra Park and a run from the Azur to Galley Hill and back (I'll assume that everyone knows where these are and how far that is). Tomorrow is parkrun, my 42nd overall. Since The Pain (TM), I haven't gone under 27 minutes, so I'm trying for that assuming there's no ridiculous headwind or bottleneck.

And ... achieved. Official time of 25:56. I will absolutely take that.

Not bad thanks. Flexibility that allows me to take 90 min dinners equals no excuse not to exercise!

Hows the running?

It's building up nicely thanks, three times a week, aiming to get to 10k each session. Have knocked 2 minutes off the 5k time in the past 2 weeks

A milestone day today.  I weighed in at 178.4 lbs.  51.2 lbs down from my start point and have hit my goal of 50 lbs lost after almost 9 months.  I had 'budgeted' on a pound a week to be sustainable but have come in under that by a long way, well happy!  Tentative running still going okay, not without its challenges, but nothing that can't be figured out and overcome.

The hope of running a full 5k in 2020 has now become a real, achievable goal.  Looked at the stats on my phone and I've walked just shy of 750 kms this year so far, I can barely believe I'll be adding running to it now.

I wasn’t going to post this but will for sake of accountability.  A couple of weeks back one of the girls where I work mentioned that she didn’t ask me about an event she was organizing as she wasn’t sure if I should be doing it.

Needless to say ‘I’m in with sodding bells on’ was warranted in response I think.  And if she wasn’t who she is I’d think I got played.  So what is this event?

Climbing the CN Tower stairs next April.  D’Oh! ?

I've pretty much stayed away from this thread as I start sweating just by reading about your efforts. However, I had to get a medical check for my teaching licence about 2 months ago. The IKA (NHS equivalent) doctor went on at some length about 'zachari' (sugar) and mentioned 'diabiti' (diabetes) more than once. My private GP, when I showed him the same results, shrugged his shoulders and said that it wasn't that bad, that we all have sugar and that I needed (must) walk for 20 minutes every day.

I haven't until yesterday. The temperatures have dropped from 'furnace' to merely 'oven' and I've woken at 7:30, so I thought, "Why not?"

I've quite enjoyed it and hope to continue. At least until my 'zachari' comes down to normal. ?

143.7 today so fighting back (again).  Bit to warm to do any long walk (for me anyway) but next few days should be good.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Took my eye off the ball this week and too carried away with the win last week.  Some legitimate medical reasons but regardless was still down to my decision making and responsibility.  Up 3.4 lbs to 181.8lbs.  Back to work.

Sorry for the late entry Shadow. Thanks for keeping me on the list.

I couldnt make the gym last week due to work and family but felt worse for it.

I did 90 minutes today and weighed 74.5.

That's very impressive.

There is an area for weights at my gym also but I can't participate.

However it's always fascinating to watch.

Confession. I missed my walk last Thursday. I woke up late and it was already too hot to go for my walk. By the time it cools down in the evening, it's time for a shower before going out for the evening. The good news is I've been for the walk every day since and the weather is cooling quite fast so there won't be any more excuses. ?

There should be moderator action against such a thing.  Those shorts are too short for a start.  Typical league short shorts.

When we started the weight recording spreadsheet I had a BMI of 27.3, it has now come down to 25.5

I am still officially overweight but looking at it a different way

I used to be 10cm too short, that's now down to 3cm.

A further regimen of dieting, exercise and stretching and that 3cm could be achieved.
