Best of luck with your gigs, Phil. Live music is the best music.

Got tickets to see the Wedding Present in Leeds in April and trying to work out how to get to watch the brilliant Susto in London in May.

No other gigs planned but need to get to more...

I'm off to see She Drew the Gun in Oxford at the beginning of March.  I'm then booked in for the National in Manchester in July.

Hoping there is seating available otherwise I'm going to have to take my shooting stick.

I saw The Dubliners a couple of weeks ago. The missus is fond of them. It was a little mediocre, a massive venue as opposed to the more intimate gigs in Malmö.

Have the Dubliners lost their ding doorum?

Given our respective ages, I will be keeping her away from that song!

Have you listened to the Paddy Power advert with Rhodri Giggs? Made me smile.

I thought this thread was about that . Already getting irritating being on endlessly . I’m sure Ryan is having a right laugh and entering the spirit of things...

I went to one day of the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow over the weekend, and despite feeling twice my real age due to the 18 year olds (aye right) and the clothes they were wearing (their underwear, covered by bright coloured netting) I absolutely loved it.

As well as a few random bands I hadn't heard of, I watched Gerry Cinnamon for the 2nd time this year, who was outstanding in his home gig, and then Stormsy - I had never considered watching him live until I saw his Glasto set on TV and it was outstanding watching him live. Years and Years also played a great, happy singalong set.

A festival crowd in Glasgow are probably the craziest crowd you will find anywhere. I also found myself taking it much more leisurely due to my recently diagnosed condition (other thread) and I enjoyed sitting in the sun, taking it easy, people watching and listening to great music.

Great stuff.

Take it on the road.... When are you going to play in Luton?

O' Sheas is a good venue

South Wilts Grammar School for Girls chamber choir, A Cappella, in which I am lucky enough to be a second tenor, will be the visiting choir at Salisbury Cathedral singing choral evensong this Thursday.

The music is as follows:

  • responses - Smith of Durham;
  • psalm 33 to two chants by Atkins;
  • Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis - Stanford in C; and
  • anthem - Evening Hymn by Henry Balfour Gardiner

Being an act of worship, rather than a concert, there is no admission charge.  It is at 5.30pm and lasts about 45 minutes.  Come along if you can.
