Dons News Posted January 22, 2019 Share Posted January 22, 2019 Liam Welham believes the Dons will benefit from coming up against three Super League sides in pre-season. The centre played in two of the three games, and says the speed of the play will improve the squad when they start their league campaign. He said: “The games were designed to get as many minutes as we can into the forwards given how many injuries we’ve had in that area. “The bodies are very sore, but it’s important to have had that physicality within the games going into the league season. “We were quite surprised with the strength of the squad London brought with them, but we all relished the challenge.” The Dons have a few weeks to recover ahead of their league opener against Newcastle Thunder on February 16.
