You can pick a preliminary team, trying out any number of combinations. Unlimited changes are available until Round 1 gets underway.

You just need a team name, pick a jersey design and have a go.

There are only 20 places available. As of now 19 of those places are there for the taking as I've already thrown my hat into the ring.

It all depends on what you are breaking out in Irish Saint.

I went through Fox too. Even so once I set things up and then gathered the link to it, it morphed into a Telegraph link.

Your hooker?

First on our agenda is that of the hookers. Right in the centre of the action, the best hookers in the competition rarely score poorly with so many opportunities in attack and defence. With their games predominately around tackling and being first at the ruck on attack, the best hookers have a serious impact week in, week out.

DAMIEN COOK | SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS | $726,000 | 77.6 2018 Avg.

One of the great conundrums for 2019 SuperCoach Coaches seems to be whether or not to start the year with 2018’s breakout star, Damien Cook. In a year where his sublime form resulted in an array of awards and representative honours, many are intrigued to see whether Cook can replicate his 2018 season under new coach Wayne Bennett. The former Broncos coach has long been labelled as a ‘SuperCoach Destroyer’, many are tentative to pick up Cook for the very expensive price of $726,000 due to the uncertainty of how his role plays out. Cook has become renowned for his lightning-quick acceleration and ability to scoot out of dummy half, and if his attacking stats can near match that of last year in which he recorded four tries, seven try assists and 79 tackle busts, accompanied with over 40 tackles a game, he should be by far the most dominant SuperCoach hooker in 2019. A serious risk and reward situation, it’ll be important to watch how the Rabbitohs utilise Cook in the upcoming trials.

Sidenote: Newcastle’s Kurt Mann ($258,000) and Roosters Victor Radley ($400,700) provide decent options to pair alongside Cook, if SuperCoaches do not want to pay for another premium hooker to go with Cook’s hefty price tag.

Beginners’ Guide

SuperCoach NRL is Australia’s favourite rugby league fantasy game — an internet phenomenon with almost 140,000 players.

If you are new to SuperCoach, here’s how it works: You’re a real coach, with a salary cap to spend, a team to pick and games to win.

Each of your players receives a weekly score based on their real-life, game-day statistics, earning a total score for your team.

Take on your mates for ultimate bragging rights and also track your progress against all other SuperCoaches.

Registering for SuperCoach is completely free and takes just a few minutes.

Once registered:

* YOU have a $9.6 million salary cap (in line with the actual NRL cap) and 25 players to pick.

* FILL each position, from front row to fullback and everything in between — you’ll need four props, six backrowers, seven centre/wings and two each at hooker, halfback, five-eighth and fullback. Remember to save your team as you go.

* HERE’S our first tip — forwards are the most consistent SuperCoach players as they perform the most work. Backs have a higher scoring potential due to attacking stats, but lack consistency as they don’t do as much running and tackling.

Jake Trbojevic is a consistent performer in the forwards.

* IF you’re struggling to pick a side, use the auto select feature and we’ll pick a team for you.

* CHANGE your initial squad as often as you like until round one starts.

* BEFORE each round, choose a starting 13 and four reserves from your squad of 25. Select one of these players as captain; he earns double points, and a vice captain as back up.

* DURING the season, you have 37 trades to build your side into a SuperCoach powerhouse. Each week you can make up to two trades, except for the “Super” bye round between rounds 14 and 15 where you get five trades.

* KEEP on top of your team management throughout the week — and while on the go — with apps available on both Apple and Android.

Hi LRL

Places are going fast this season. I only set it up a week ago and we are already half full.

Should be a good comp again. I've already tried three different squads out with only about four or five players that are in all three squads!

Good to have you with us Supercoach. How fortunate you were to be given such an appropriate name at birth! ?

Good luck in the weeks ahead.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/02/19/nrl-pre-season-trials-squads-week-2

Thought I would post this here so "managers " could search for unknown cheapies to fill out their squad. For me Payne Haas of the Broncos a shoe-in. Unfortunately, with the update of our computer system at work certain sites are now blocked of which NRL Supercoach appears to be on that list.

NRL.com report that Payne Haas has been fined 20,000 dollars and suspended for the first four games by the Broncos for failing to comply with the NRL.Integrity Unit over an incident involving a member of his family.

Let it be known that Mr Haas has not been accused of rape or drink driving. The NRL really needs to get its act together.

So he's one not to start with ... or is he worth carrying in the squad?
