If so, he would have to get his right to British citizenship from one of his parents because our nationality law is based primarily on jus sanguinis rather than jus soli. From a rugby league point of view, national team qualification can rely on where you are born, so he could qualify for England or GB without being a British citizen. I think this comes from an interview his dad did with the Yorkshire Evening Post last year when he said (of his son) "he was born over there and he will have an English passport, but I think that will be where he ends". Anyway, it is all moot as his dad goes on to say in the interview his entire Australian Rugby League loving and playing family would (metaphorically) go to the airport to stop him playing for England. You're right it doesn't - not unless you are otherwise stateless and a parent has indefinite leave to remain. There could be residency qualifications as well, but as Ben Walker was only at Leeds for one season, that is very unlikely to apply to Sam. Dom Young was strong but was affected by a touch up to the ribs , and Herbie again showed he’s a world superstar and again highlighted how lazy Kotoni Staggs is . He's clearly not getting a game at the Dophins, but I don't think he's even running out for the Queensland Cup side either? Playing for CQ who are the Dolphins’ other feeder side this year. CQ are undefeated so far and Gildart has started at centre all of those games, scoring in 2 of them. Thanks! Sounds like he's going well enough then - hopefully he can get a run out soon. Dolphins picked up a few injuries against Broncos if I remember rightly, so if there's a bit of a reshuffle of others he might not be far off getting in the 17.
