Pryce has not at all been given a fair go by Adam O’Brien and Newcastle IMO. When he has played he shone real promise and talent, yet O’Brien seems to have no intention of playing him. Perhaps he could come back to SL, but I would like for him to stay in Australia and properly break into the NRL, no doubt he can. Just not going to happen at Newcastle under a clueless coach.

The problem for Pryce is there’s only 17 starting Five Eight roles available so his options are pretty limited. Newcastle probably have the worst halves in the NRL so if he can’t cement a spot there his chances of cementing spot elsewhere are going to be slim.

Teams with some of the weaker starting FE’s that he may be able to compete for a starting role include the Warriors (Luke Metcalf), Raiders (Ethan Strange), Dolphins (Kodi Nikorima), Titans (AJ Brimson), Panthers (Cole, Schneider, Laurie). But even still, there’s not much evidence to suggest Pryce should be starting over any of these guys.

just watched the highlights of the cowboys getting a hiding from manly - was only the highlights but to be honest never even noticed Bateman was on the pitch? he was on the team sheet - did he go off early or something?

Played the full 80.

After round one he's the Cowboys' fantasy points leader with 57.

Even though the Cowboys got hammered I thought Bateman showed up quite well. Didn’t have much opportunity with the ball but was solid in defence

Didn't see it but 44 tackles with four missed is a fair effort, you're right.

It wasn’t that bad when I posted, the fact is the storm sat offshore a lot longer than expected.

I think some folks get carried away by technical measures as opposed to impacts.  The storm wasnt offshore, it was the cyclone that delayed landfall. There were storms and winds over 100km per hour taking trees down, destroying roofs from late Friday into Sunday and its still raining heavily this morning. Flooding expected to intensify over next few days.

Still 200,000 without power, no schools, public transport etc on Gold Coast, entire 40km of beaches washed away, major flooding throughout the region, people evacuated to municipal facilities. Thousands of trees down blocking access for emergency vehicles.

No bath needed…there is water everywhere.

That Wayne Bennett 'Who are you?' comment doesn't look so funny now. Barring injury, he doesn't get back in that Souths team now. Humphreys will make the shirt his own and it even looks as though Bud Sullivan would get a chance before him too - granted he can also play 9 so more versatile but still telling he got a bench spot.

KPP put in a solid enough performance today for the knights against a poor looking dolphins outfit - not much Herbie Farnworth could do about it - he became a bit inconspicuous in most parts of the game - like  I  said - thrown his career away for cash instead of trophies and medals cos that dolphins outfit wont be taking part in any grand finals any time soon- just making up the numbers like the titans

KPP did get sin-binned, but in a team performance that saw Ponga playing near his best and the Phins looking phloppy, that 10 minutes didn't threaten the win.

Yeah I think Farnworth might be instructing his agent to get him shopped around because apart from Tabuai-Fidow, there’s a lot of ageing and journeymen type players in that side.

I'm not sure mate - in truth he'll see it out because I do remember it being quite an uplift on what Broncos could offer him and I doubt any other team would have cap space for the next couple of years

Dolphins facing the post Bennett drop off experienced by all his previous clubs apart from Broncos.

However two of their affiliates played in the QRL final last year so that could be a sign of better times.

Some amazing work in a remarkable team performance. He seemed to be challenging in the air for high kicks more than usual, and gave Dylan Edwards a ton of trouble.
