The Future is League
16 players from one club refuse drug tests with the excuses they have mental problems. If they have mental problems why are they still playing? For me there is only one reason why people refuse drug tests and its not rocket science https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-drugs-policy-melbourne-great-garry-lyon-left-shattered-by-mental-health-claim/news-story/40760ec9506dc087e57be2f29b3b7565?nk=eebc53aec26f991a4017b847a7f37354-1550969314 Nick Riewoldt is a well respected figure in AFL circles to a stella playing career and he puts the blame firmly at the door of the people who run the game. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-02-25/nick-riewoldt-says-afl-drug-use-is-out-of-control/10845652
Damien
I saw this earlier. AFL seems to get bit of a free ride from the media, compared to the NRL where any minor indiscretion is jumped upon, so it will be interesting to see if there is any change with this. Also you have to ask the question, what sort or parent would let their child play a game which clearly turns a blind eye to its drug problems
