City's Q&A last night saying they still don't know for certain when the stadium will be ready and yet we're pencilled in for 9th February.

Are we just basing it off the hope that the test events sail through with flying colours?

Glass half empty / half full mate , we will be in when it's ready , up the patient kneets???

Well obviously, but you can understand the impatience from people. City saying plain they dont know, also the Knights on twitter saying they dont know and yet we're supposed to be playing there in 1 months time.

If the first test event is the 19th then when are the next 2 and how long does it take for it to be given the green light? You would imagine it would be a bit more than just "yep, seems alright, open her up boys".

Just seem to be constantly in the dark about it all.

One point here is that the people who are running City are completely incompetent so it's no surprise they don't know what's going on. I'm more surprised the Knights are in the dark. Looks like the council are to blame for this one.

Test events at the stadium have been cancelled, what a farce York council are.

Why am I not surprised. That expression about a ###### up in a brewery comes to mind. Doncaster Keepmoat took less than 2 years from planning permission to opening, it's almost twice the capacity of the community stadium and cost only £20  million. Rotherham FC's New York stadium was less than 2 years from planning permission to opening, it's capacity is 12,000 and it cost circa £20 million. So why is the community stadium taking so long and costing so much. CYC are a bunch of incompetent a***holes.

Doncaster had a couple of advantages in getting theirs through (I was involved as the Dons supporters representative on the stadium delivery group so have a bit of insight in this). Firstly, Doncaster is a large area but has one football team, one rugby league team and one rugby union team. The first two shared the old stadium and were looking for a joint venture for a new one. This should also be an advantage to York over places like Castleford who have to consider other similar sized clubs. Secondly, and most importantly, Doncaster has an elected Mayor, it was in the manifesto of our first elected Mayor, Martin Winter (a former Dons player), to deliver this stadium. When he was elected he had the power and mandate to deliver it, away from other more complicated politics.

They haven't finished the build so can’t hold the test events until they do. Frustrating but there you are. It does give us one last outing at BC so will be nice to bow out with another bumper crowd.
