Kieran Cross says the Dons are ready for a tough test against Workington Town this weekend.

The two promotion chasing sides go head-to-head at the Keepmoat Stadium, and Cross believes it will be an entertaining game.

He said: “It will be another physical test, we know them well from last season so it should be a really interesting game.

“We were disappointed with the last time we played them, we’ll be looking to get some points on the board and get the result.

“At this point of the season it’s about making sure we get the two points, performances will come the more games we play.”

Cross also says that the Dons will benefit from coming up against the better sides in the league early on in the campaign.

He added: “Last year we probably eased our way into the campaign whereas we’ve had much tougher games to start off with this season.

“We stuck to our game plan for the first 30 minutes against Hunslet and looked really dangerous, we need to kick on from that now.

“The Keepmoat is a great place to play our rugby and we’re looking forward to getting out there and putting on a performance.”
