However, it's becoming increasingly apparent that he isn't anywhere near good enough to be the fulcrum of a team playing at this level. Ditching Walker was a huge mistake. Essentially, we let a player of enormous experience and class leave on the basis that Jouffret looked pretty good against Barrow and an unpaid, demoralised Leigh team. Did you "ditch" him or was the money at Sheffield better? Despite the undoubted kudos of playing for Batley it could be possible that players have other motivations. I don't blame the player for one minute but there can come a time when the club's valuation of a player's worth is exceeded by another club with more money. I don't think that Batley, or any similar club, is able to spend their way out of a problem.
