Sandow is a nutcase....you would never be sure he would even turn up to play on matchday....genius player with massive issues, lack of fitness probably the biggest - not the most athletic or keenest trainer at the best of times.

Remember the old adage...if something seems too good to be true...then it probably is!

A bloke who only a few years ago was the best halfback in super league being handed a "lifeline" by a part time team 12,000 miles away - what does it tell you that in australia where rugby league is almost the national sport...there is not a single club willing to open the door to him?

There is another one just like him currently working in a warehouse in normanton....apparently doncaster are looking at him

That would be interesting to watch Sandow v Chase...first one to lose the plot wins an asbo!

On a good day though....what a halfback pairing you could get with that pair!....probably as good as most super league teams

I just feel that gambling is a privilege enjoyed by those who can afford it BUT a dangerous risk for those who cannot.

I would pass on this one but would be delighted to see him come and prove me wrong

*edit....may be nowt but.....he has VERY recently started following Leon Price on twitter!....maybe this has got some legs!

Looking at recent photos of him...with him and moi moi as props Town would have the front row with the biggest bellies in the league if nothing else :) ...he is shaped more like a darts player than a rugby player!!

Hard to disagree with any of this, and he certainly wouldn't come cheap! Massive gamble but with some of our recent gambles we are bound to be due a win with one of them soon!

I don’t care if he’s 20 stone and had more fights than Ricky Hatton. If he come, performs to the levels he is capable he will go along way to getting us out this division. The club are getting ambitious and signing players of his calibre goes along way to fulfilling them. We need a half, and we’re getting the best half in super league 3 seasons ago

We already have one halfback who could make a part time Santa Claus. And he is our best player. Also have another who choses to turn up on the roll of a dice. And he has gone pretty well to.

I'm sure of it is true. Leon knows what he is getting. And will have learnt from some of the early mistakes we made with foster and tansey.

Quite pleased it's not true, after the debacle with fafita. I would love to see us strengthen the squad though IMO we could Do with a halfback/hooker and another centre ideally local lads but not fussed as long as we get the squad strengthened. At the moment we are all bricking it when someone goes down injured....is it Penky ? Olly ? Elliot ? It's worrying to say the least. Somebody was saying that the club's get no cash for progressing in the new cup competition. If that's the case I would be resting  a few when we go to Hunslet 5 days before the haven game.

All that was said was the club starts with the letter ‘W’ and has an ‘I’ in it, could be a matter of clubs as Workington, Widnes, Wakefield, Wigan, and the jam

Just a waiting game really, have to see how it pans out.

This would not be the first time that Sandow has made claims of a transfer on social media, for them to turn out to be rubbish.

From what i can gather his last contract as a player involved him playing for no wages but being handed a mining job...

I think that any expectations of the "warrington" version of Sandow turning up would need to be watered down somewhat.

One thing i will say though is that folks here cannot be giving the board and managment a pat on the back for signing him (if it happens) ...only to turn on them if things go wrong for whatever reason!

In my book its a big tick in the right boxes for the club that the trade paper is carrying headlines linking internationally known players to Workington..not even sure it matters whether its true or not!....its getting the profile of the club out there and firming up the idea that Town are a outfit who are heading upwards and that must be a good thing
