Richard Horne wants his side to cut out basic errors when they take on Coventry Bears in Betfred League One this weekend.

The Dons go into the game on the back of a Challenge Cup victory over Featherstone Lions, and the head coach says they need to produce a stronger performance on Sunday.

He said: “We’ve played them recently and they came out and played well, we’re focusing on making sure our start is good.

“Getting to the end of our sets is an issue for us, we’re putting ourselves under pressure defensively due to making simple errors.

“At the weekend we had just over 50% completion rate which we’ll struggle with against the better teams.”

After beating the Bears 38-16 in the previous meeting between the two sides last month, Horne believes staying composed will be key.

He added: “We’ll be working hard on tidying areas up, we haven’t quite found our consistency yet and got into games to put points on the board.

“The problem at the moment is that we back an error up with another error rather than just completing a set.

“Patience is key for us and when we make a half-break it’s important to be clinical and make the most of it.”
