We need penky , and honestly I’d be shocked if missing this game was in the holz agreement

Surely if he's been away esp in America I think I heard he's been then only getting back on Thursday you have to ask will he be fit to play in such a big game the next day?

He’ll be fit but anyone who’s done it knows he’ll be knackered !

I agree David but in all honesty Penky will probably be calling time at the end of the season anyway and it makes the decision to let Newts go even more baffling. He’d have got plenty of game time but as it is we are without a specialist back up hooker, albeit we are not likely to pick anyone up of the same class as Penky.

Any idea on them lots signing news?

Think it's a half back from barrow but there's loads of other rumours going round who it could be players from Leigh and hull but think it will be the young barrow lad

Supposed to be Jake Carter from barrow been offered Ryan brierley and Adam higson on loan for the season apparently but wages are 7k a month so a no goer. Would suppose they've been offered to all league 1 teams.

I agree that the hooker situation is a major stumbling block in any serious promotion ambition. There is no doubt that Penky still has the X factor when he makes it onto the park but that's been a big "when" so far. Having no recognised back - up at 9 is hard to fathom - Karl always gives 100%wherever he plays but he simply isn't a hooker. Let's just hope that home advantage gives us the edge on Friday...... U. Thought you you had a lotto winner on board? 7k should be manageable if so.

7.5k between both is crazy money at this level or champ level most in sl wouldn't be on that any team would be nuts to consider it

Think the derbies these days are mainly for the players than the fans .Long gone are the days when most players were dyed in the wool Town/Haven one club players .For instance 8 of the Haven starting 13 against Hunslet were once Townies never mind the coaching staff ....As for Friday depends on who we have available , will Penky appear , will Olly have recovered from his injury from Friday  ? I actually prefer us going into the match having played last week rather than having a fortnight off , good weather forecast so let`s hope for a decent crowd and a decent result UTT.

We played the Whitehaven at the start of the season ,we could easily have put 50 on them that day  think the ref tried to equal it up with some decisions in the 2nd half , We get stuffed at Leeds ,but remember Rochdale got stuffed at Salford by nearly the same score  and that's  the team that beat Whitehaven in the previous round , So why do people think Whitehaven will have to much for us . if Town play to there potential  we should be ok .

Most of us were really looking forward to this game at the start of the season but probably not so much now. Injuries to key players the London debacle and Fridays hammering have knocked most fans confidence. Add to that havens unexpected league position I would imagine we are going into Fridays game as underdogs which nobody expected a couple of months ago. The London defeat means we have to win every home game  this season and also pick up another away win against one of the top six to stay in contention. I cant see any other of the top six losing at London.

If we can get Penky and Olly on the field in decent condition then I still think we have too much forward power for them and would hope along with the home backing we can still win this one, if those two don't play it will be a tough day for us. I would like to think that haven have maybe been punching above their weight and are due a reality check, then again I thought that last year and we all know what happened. ?

I can’t be agreeing that we’re underdogs . We should be favourites to beat everyone here . For some strange reason this game does get into our heads a bit much , but if we play like most games here we have more than them. That’s the if though .... play the game not the occasion . They really have nothing we haven’t seen or know or anything that scares you . For everything we were rubbish last year and should still have won both games . I think after the last fortnight Leon will be right into them to get out there and put it right . In fact I know he will be . I’d be very surprised if they came here and won . And if we have any ambitions to get promoted they shouldn’t

But  you didn't marra that's the reality check if you remember haven weren't great in both games either what I will say is people say as stated above we have nothing to fear from haven well I hope that dosn't bite you in the butt Friday we are a compete different team to the one you beat convincingly in January but that was a team with most players playing there first game for the club with amateurs and only trained together for a couple months prior. Instead of saying how you should have too much for haven lets see if town can deliver on Friday I will be first on here to congratulate all of you make no mistake this isnt the side you played 4 months ago and the league position tells you that. Saying this you are favorites and expected to win at home with the money you are throwing around you should be in our position in the league and we shouldn't be anywhere near the top.
