Toronto Wolfpack: Marketing Genius

Once had a noted hunter at my cottage and a mink was down by the shore.  We all were having drinks and he said he could quickly kill it bare handed...we all said no way.  He then threw a stone from about 35 meters toward the shore...hit the mink which was then wiggling by the water, sprinted down, grabbed it and broke itsd neck with his hands.  He then held up the corpse with blood pouring from  its head and said, "Told Ya!".

Now that is blind luck...still talk about it to this very day.

Even as a fellow Canadian, I have to admit.. that's a weird story.

A current england RU international has his own CBD brand, and no one has batted an eyelid.  Why do people think this will be bad for RL's reputation?

There are lots of claims about CBD and not as much evidence (hence the snake oil accusations), but its not some hippy drug thing and is becoming pretty mainstream.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

The BBC even ran a puff piece about it -

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/46625302

Quote

Every week, at every Premiership rugby club, players are using cannabis oil products.

At Saracens, England international George Kruis and his Wales club-mate Dominic Day take cannabis oils, capsules and balms which they say help "put our bodies back together".

In fact, they believe so strongly in the recovery effects of cannabidiol (CBD) they have started their own business selling it.

Becoming very popular in Spain. Several stores opened up recently to sell the product.I do believe they have to be licenced though to sell it.I do know several people though who use it and swear by it to help them with their arthritis .rheumatics etc.

They'll need to be careful with exactly what they say about it in France (and the UK for the time being). Unlike North America, the EU takes unproven claims of medical benefits for any product pretty seriously.

The realities of the world...you have been living in a shell for far too long!  You will eat the meat from the store but not acknowledge where it comes from.  You do not condone the killing of a vermin pest yet continue to use insecticides and pesticides, etc. to get rid of the bugs and weeds in your little patch of lawn.

Its the law of nature, your attitude, with that silly comment, shows a mentality and lack of acceptance which is, sadly, quite common amongst numerous citidiots and clueless urbanites.

I used to work in an abattoir, did your friend eat the mink?

Thought not

CBD products are already on the market in the UK. Check out your local Holland and Barrett.

Wolfpack have certainly caused a stir with this product release. Lots of people losing it over a product (CBD) which is perfectly legal and on sale on lots of places in the UK. I have to say I've tried it for back pain and saw no benefits whatsoever. Think most of what people see is a placebo effect.

Yep. But Holland & Barrett themselves do not make any claims whatsoever about any health benefits of CBD. Not on the internet, not in the shop, not on the packaging. All I'm saying is that the law is different in Canada compared with the EU and as they're not some anonymous online vendor, they'll need to take care over what they say.

Watch out for the cats digging them up.

If something was to dig them up it’d be a fox. I was actually followed by a fox on the street this morning.

They are very tricky...especially the Silver Fox!

Hold on, are we talking animals or humans here?  When you say followed by a fox do mean a woman in her 20's from Lane Cove?

Some people have ‘lost’ it on here not because they think that the product is illegal, but purely because it is Toronto that have got the commercial partnership.

My first post on the thread , it just seems a bit strange , I assume they've just put their name to a product that was already being sold , so anybody buying it is now paying more for the privelege , more fool them

' Marketing genius ' ? Sounds a bit much really

You clearly don't understand how marketing works; this product was not being sold, an earlier form of it was; its NEW and IMPROVED!

They are going to make another fortune yet again...you should see what The Pack is making off of clothing; especially hats!  These hats are NEW and IMPROVED over the previous hats.

You've got to keep pushing and putting out new product...ever hear of Apple?

That is how it works.
