I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly. This is the same Sky Cricket that lost the IPL rights, doesn’t show CPL or most other global T20 leagues, didn’t bother to show England Women on tour even though there was footage, and can’t be bothered to show domestic games even though it has exclusive rights. Today is definately a win the toss and bowl day with the pacemen looking forward to bowling on a wicket that, while under cover, has "sweated" and will have early moisture. I hate to agree with George Dobell on anything, but I too believe the loser of this match will struggle to reach the semi-final. Rain has indeed affected the tournament as I predicted earlier in the thread, what is significant is te number of abandoned matches and the impact this has on the table in respect of the number of odd points sides have now and the lessening impact of net run rate that would have favoured England. Put it this way, West Indies win today and England need to win two out of three against Australia, India and New Zealand tomake the semi's. England win today, West Indies are 1.5 games behind England. The rain has also meant the majority of sides save Afghanistan and, not that they would admit it, South Africa are still in the hunt. so every game matters (Where have I heard that before...) Lot of Media talk on how this tournament is under the radar here in the UK owing to a lack of Free to Air (FTA) coverage. Maybe, just maybe, this along with the upcoming calamity thart is The Hundred, will be the flash that lights up reality and leads to the removal of those administrators who know the price of everything and the value of nothing. Gayle is 33 (29) and Hope 4 (28) with Lewis dismissed earlier by Woakes, and unfortunately for England, Gayle was dropped at 3rd man by Wood after skying it early in his knock. In both cases the matches against in form opponents largely settled before the interval. With two players injured early wickets could have been problematic but Joe Root stepped up with an unbeaten hundred . In each of England world cup games thus far win or lose someone in the batting line up has come to the party. Its often the case that when England beat the opposition this is always explained as its because their opponents failed to play to their potentia,l but in these matches England did not let them play to their potential and you give credit to the three lions when due. Australia should claima comfortable win at the Oval against Sri Lanka today which will lead into tomorrows main event... The India v Pakistan game has been described as the biggest sporting rivalry in the world, certainly there are two things unique to the contest. Firstly, the two sides are countrties actually in a state of undeclared war with each other over Kashmir and secondly the ICC actually admits to rigging the draw to ensure India play Pakistan at the World Cup. bearing in mind that neither country plays each other as they should do under Crickets Future Tours programme. Sounds like Finch has had a good knock although Warner has come in for some criticism for slow scoring. Think though they’ve done enough here to beat Sri Lanka.
