Game of the season coming up?

Recommended Posts

Next week sees Hull KR at home to Wire kicking off at 3pm on Saturday and London away to Catalans kicking off at 5pm on the same day. If, as you might expect, its an away win followed by a home win, all eyes will be on the following Thursday's game, London v Hull KR which will be live on Sky.

What a massively nervous occasion that promises to be.

Well, it panned out the exact opposite of what you might have expected which makes it just as interesting, I reckon.

Hull FC have won their last two successive games whereas Saints and Wire have only one one of their last two, so it's obviously us that's in the best form and most likely to finish top, especially if you realise that Saints are only ten points clear at the moment.

Leeds. Hull KR and London are all tied on 12 points at the bottom. After the London v Hull KR clash on Thursday, Leeds are at Saints on Sky the following night. I think you might struggle to find a bookie who'll give you any sort of odds on Leeds going second bottom by late Friday.

So, which team will be bottom on Friday? Could it be Hull KR who then face the mighty Hull FC at home on Thursday  27th on Sky, or will it be London, who then play Cas away the following Sunday 30th, the same day that Leeds are at home to Catalans.

The Wire v Saints game on 28th pales into insignificance...

We can't have that sort of thinking,,,SLs 3 wise men ordained last season that the middle 8s had to go because it was a focus on mediocrity, haven't you been keeping up!

A game between the team at the top(who have just lost to the team at the bottom) 8 pts clear of the team in second (who have just lost to the team second bottom) MUST be the game of the round as it's a virtual play off for a trophy(?) that no one gives a rat's about.

Sometimes, life just doesn't go the way you plan it,. that's what makes it interesting ?
