I will give you a beer token so your feelings won't be hurt.

Tell you, what I'll put you on ignore as I see you're sadly not a 'one off' cheap shot merchant. You have your own beer, thanks.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

As if I care what you do, let's leave Argyle to the cheap shots, he is better at them than me.

I think it’s okay to use the word Nazi when we’re jesting about pedantry.   After all, the context of its use is making fun of the right wing extremists.

Unless of course Hitler was set on a path of Genocidal Megalomania after endless hours correcting internet posters on their grammar and spelling.   I’d have to watch a few episodes of the History Channel to check, as I didn’t pay as much attention as I should have at school.... ?

Did you not know that Nazi is short for Nationalsozialistische?  In German compound words the head word always comes last, thus the head word there is sozialistische (the German feminine adjectival form of Sozialist or socialist) and thus a Nationalsozialist is a type of socialist and cannot ever be anything else.  I never heard of any other variant of socialism being placed on the right, have you?

How many players did Dewsbury sign from the NRL and Super League, though? Nobody is impressed, really.

I did enjoy the game but it wasn't competitive. A total contrast to the previous game at Dewsbury.

Dewsbury made 8 changes. Most teams seem to do this in Canada. I can see the logic as it is a likely defeat  anyway and better to keep the best players fresh for the following week. Especially with the play off system.

I thought Toronto looked very good but it is hard to judge how high their standard is until they come across a side with players of equal merit.

In baseball terms, Dewsbury players will be barely making A-team money, let alone AA or AAA. They are part-time guys with normal jobs.

The current Wolfpack roster is pretty average if I’m honest. If that team was playing in Super League now it would likely be slugging it with London, Hull KR and Leeds out to avoid relegation.

But we’re all looking forward to seeing who Toronto sign if/when you make the big league...

This is definitely happening. Toulouse are also bringing a very weak team next week.It is a shame for an expansion market that clubs aren't making an effort. Although for part-time teams, I can understand the pragmatism.

It is weird for a sport to have full-time team playing against part-time teams in the same league, but that is the situation we are in because of the leadership vacuum between SL & the RFL. Both seemingly lacking a clear vision for the future.

Fair point.   I wasn’t thinking and was just making fun of the bad guys without reading my post.   To be fair I did say I should have paid more attention in a History class at school...

I apologise if I’ve offended any Nazis ? ... and hope they have a nice retirement in South America.

I agree given the travel distances involved it is strange to have a FT team against PTimers.

I find the TWP at home games not particularly interesting as the result seems like a foregone conclusion.

Hopefully TWP win the Playoffs and we can at least see how them being in SL will be for the Sport of RL.

It would probably have been better for them to have gone into SL off the bat with a franchise for say 5 years guaranteed as long as they brought revenue to the table upfront.

That way they could also build a strong roster. As right now as they don't know for sure which league they are in next year, its hard to plan.

They will be in superleague next year and I would say good enough now to be battling at the middle, add a couple of SL/NRL calibre

players and then a top 4 finish isn't impossible.

Speak for yourself...many people, including myself, knew the path would not be easy.  From inception it has clearly been stated, on many occasions,  that it is a 5 year plan (you know this already).  Just because you reckoned it would be 3 years to SL doesn't mean that a majority of others felt that way.

We are on track for the 5 year goal...there have been many bumps along the way but we will get there.  You know that that is true also.

Also, the weirdness and randomness of the (now cancelled) "Super 8's" which was like a mini cup knock out competition at the end of a gruelling season.

What happened in 2018, but discontinued for this year;

How does the Super 8 work in rugby league? After 23 games the league table is frozen and the teams are split up into 2 of the 3 "Super 8s". ... Super League Teams finishing in the bottom four (9-12) will compete alongside the top 4 teams from the Championship, in "The Qualifiers" Super 8 group.

You're not with me , the SL ( and indeed the Championship ) play offs are a ' mini knock out cup ' at the end of a gruelling season

The end of season play off's are completely unnecessary, unjust and potentially offensive. I have said it before, and I stand by my previous comments. The point of a League competition is you play all your rivals home and away and who ever has the most points at the end of the season is the winner (e.g. as per Premier League Soccer Football) you shouldn't have to play again, your performance is judged against the results of the whole season.

To enjoy the highs and lows of a knock out competition there is the FA Cup / Challenge Cup respectively.

The only thing that is worse than the season end play offs is the previous Super 8 system which was not well understood, liked or attended. Pitting the top four Championship clubs against the bottom four Super League clubs.

There's a Knock Out Cup Competition and a League Competition with a (unnecessary) mini knock out (cup style) ending.

I agree , every year we see complaints on here about fans ( and indeed the media ) being more interested in the bottom of SL than the top ( this irrelivant of whatever structure we have ) , this quite simply because the best team in SL over the season isn't necessarily the Champions , get rid of the play offs and there will be more focus on the top , simples

Happens in football, national league and NL South and North are a mix of pro/semi pro teams
