They are both learning and adapting to this level and I don't think this is the season to have half backs in the side who are doing so. They will be great players no doubt but we can't afford to take a risk and go down. Johnston was getting targeted in defence in the games he was playing. I think Carter did a bit better in defence against Widnes but his contact still wasn't great. I think at times Jake struggled with the line speed but young lads making such a huge step up are going to have areas to work on. Hopefully this signing is the answer to converting our chances. He had alot of competition at Halifax in the halves with James Woodburn-Hall, Scott Grix, Ben Johnson (Who has been out for most of the season) as partners for Scott Murrell.
