Graham
So Dave Taylor, The Coal Train, has retired from the professional game aged 30. Some are saying how much better a player if only he’d... and then say various things. For a player who it’s said didn’t achieve his full potential he didn’t do too bad. He represented Queensland eight times in State of Origin, played one Test for the Kangaroos against New Zealand in 2012 along with over 180 NRL games. Taylor had been playing for the Capras in the Queensland Cup, after some stints with Canberra Raiders. The forward began his career at with Brisbane Broncos, before moving to South Sydney. After some ups and downs at Titans, he tried his hand in Super League playing for Catalan Dragons. So a big let down, a good player who did alright or what? Allora
Big Dave had so much more potential than he delivered IMO, he could have been anything. Giant of a man that could not control his weight or motivation. Good luck to him in retirement. Talent is secondary to whether players are confident.
