NRL 2019 - Round 15 - Match Thread

Recommended Posts

The Rabbitohs have hit a speed hump in recent weeks, losing players to Origin and injury and losing three in a row to the Panthers, Knights and Eels.

The last win for Wayne Bennett's men was over Wests Tigers in round 11 and by a quirk of the draw they meet again just five weeks later.

The Bunnies' forward stocks have been boosted by the return of George Burgess and they'll need Blues reps Damien Cook and Cam Murray to stand tall as well if they are to get over the top of a Tigers pack led by Alex Twal and Ryan Matterson.

The Tigers will be hoping it's a case of third time's a charm as far as Bankwest Stadium goes after their other two outings at the flashy new venue resulted in hidings from Parramatta and Canberra.

Disgusting act by George Burgess.  Our sport is tough enough without the risk of someone being blinded.

Should get a long ban and it will be well deserved... no benefit of the doubt with this one, his fingers were really digging into Farrah's eyes.

Crazy . I don’t know what is with those brothers , fine tough players but at times guilty of complete brainstorms of illdiscipline . No defending that . Brainless thuggery

Dragons v Cowboys, Friday 6pm at WIN Stadium

Dragons: Tim Lafai has been ruled out, replaced by Lachlan Maranta. The other change to the team thrashed 34-14 by Manly in round 14 is on the bench, with Jeremy Latimore chosen instead of Jai Field, who is named as a reserve with Josh Kerr. Jordan Pereira was omitted on Thursday night.

Cowboys: Matt Scott has failed in his bid to return from a shoulder injury and withdrew on Thursday. Former Storm fullback Scott Drinkwater is straight into the side in the No.1 jersey allowing Michael Morgan to return to five-eighth and Jordan Kahu to centre. Enari Tuala goes from centre to wing and Javid Bowen is out. Josh McGuire is out suspended and his place is taken by Jordan McLean, who returns from a hamstring injury. Coen Hess (leg) is out and his place is taken by Shane Wright. With Kurt Baptiste gone for the season with a knee injury, Reuben Cotter comes in for his second game of the year. Corey Jensen also joins the bench. Emry Pere was cut from the reserves on Thursday.

Roosters v Storm, Friday 7.55pm at Adelaide Oval

Roosters: Ryan Hall has been replaced on the wing by Matt Ikuvalu, while Poasa Faamausili has taken the place of Sitili Tupouniua on the bench. James Tedesco will wear the No.1 after being rested for the round 14 clash with the Bulldogs. Tedesco's return sees Joseph Manu go back to the centres and Mitch Aubusson to the bench. Zane Tetevano is into the starting side at prop and Isaac Liu goes from prop to lock. Lindsay Collins is back on the bench after missing the Bulldogs match. Brett Morris has been named among the reserves as he continues to work his way back from a knee injury suffered back in round two.

Storm: On Friday the Storm were granted an exemption to make a change to their 19-man squad. Jahrome Hughes is out with a back injury and Tino Faasuamaleaui comes in. They will reduce their squad to 17 an hour before kick-off. Ryan Papenhuyzen is now listed at fullback, while Marion Seve has been replaced at centre by Joe Stimson. Tui Kamikamica and Justin Olam have been promoted to the bench. All the Storm's Origin and international players came through rep round unscathed and have been named to back up.
