Shows how things can change quickly in this sport. We were no hopes a few weeks ago. But if we can continue with that form. And possibly get ell back going into the play offs. Anything is a possibility.

Would fancy us against anyone if we perform like we did yesterday.

That really is a worrying image!  D P was always a fast-draining pitch due to the ashes and cinder sub strata provided by the former refuse tip foundations ( no "rubbish" jokes please!).    Looks like that drainage has been seriously compromised by the recent relaying and if that proves to be the case then is there any redress to be had from the contractor or Allerdale council as landlords??  The margins alongside the touch lines are too narrow to offer much safety to players being forced into touch.

Ike will be spinning in his grave to see the Cumbrian turf that he tended so well replaced by German grass seed!

What a load of rubbish is talked on here! Anybody who knows anything about grass will tell you, they used Skinburness sea washed grass seed, (same as Wembley)! Spike just happened to see it when the tide was in!

Difference being that DP (and Wembley as well as several other venues ) were laid with Solway TURF not seed. You are correct though in your opinion of some of the garbage that appears on here --- one might be forgiven for assuming that grass might have been ingested by some................?

It was only a couple of days ago a certain Mrs Fitzgerald said in a Times & Star article " I have always believed that party politics has no place at local government level. Councillors should simply be doing their best to look after the interests of the communities they serve" It will interesting seeing her trying to gag her deputy who takes any and every opporutinty to have a dig at Labour. I completely agree with her sentiment though even if it does come back to haunt her once the homeymoon period is over and all the in fighting starts.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
