Elbow to the head of a prone player - sin bin

Shoulder to the side of the head followed by an elbow to the head while on the floor after the high tackle - sin bin

Agreed. I thought both elbow incidents were pretty soft and not worthy of a red.

Co-sign on the original post. The Roberts incident a send off IMO.

The Jayden Su'a incident less so. The tackle was a clumsy one on a falling player, so i don't think it was as intentional as the Roberts incident.

But it wasn't really an elbow, rather an upper arm to the head.  I think a red would have been a bit heavy and 10 in the bin felt right.

Very dumb play though as they just had a 7 tackle set.

Just the intention of it i thought was pretty low. A dirty shot from Roberts.

Yes, I agree with that. If the contact was harder then I agree a red.

Maybe it should have been a red - the player was prone and unguarded but I don't think the contact warranted a send off.

I'm not condoning the play and and maybe it should have been a red for stupidity.

Orange card - 20 minutes in the bin!

I think the NRL have done well to try stomp out unnecessary foul play but I'd make a few rule changes.

Late contact to the head - Sending off.

Late contact with force - Yellow

Force to a players head when they can't defend themselves - Red.

The instigators of fights should always get a higher punishment than the person defending. Instigator gets red defender gets yellow, instigator gets yellow defender gets a warning ect. This will stop the instigating.

Reason behind these is that I just can't accept that Jack Wighton v Melbourne for tackling someone who's done a quick tap within 10 gets the same punishment of Corey Oates getting elbowed in the head whilst vulnerable.

Edit: with regards to defending themselves there needs to be a judgement on 'defending' themselves. If they blatantly go excessive and on the offensive then judge accordingly.
