When I lived in Uxbridge, there was an RAF Challenge Cup game advertised as being played at RAF Uxbridge, so I went along to watch. I was not allowed into the RAF camp without an escort, so one of the players that I knew (who wasn't playing) had to get a Jeep and drive to the main gate, and escort me to the game. Couple of beers after the game there was no-one to walk me back to the main gate, so I borrowed a Jeep and drove myself back to the main gate, and went home. Very bad security.

Strange place, Uxbridge, especially as it's (or at least was) HQ to the RAF Police...

(ex) HQ of the RAF Regiment, those who don't fly, but make sure the bases are secure. Especially in enemy territory.

Otherwise, Yes. Very Strange. I was there for 20 years. Odd, not quite London, not quite country. Tory stranglehold (MP Boris), but many Labour councillors.

It's the RAF, what did you expect, of the three forces they IME were the most slap-dash, wouldn't trust half of them to boil an egg, watching their lads tick-tocking is @@@@ing hilarious🤣
