Highest ranked team always takes home advantage, including in the final I believe.

So if toulouse win and Toronto beat York or Featherstone it will still be at Toronto?

Thanks

Broncos had to play in Toronto twice in the play off s last year! (3 visits in one season)

Yes, which I think is stupid as the first game should at least be playing for home advantage.

For the umpteenth time, the rules were set out before the season started and I don't remember any complaints from either fans or clubs at the time.

But what are the rules?

There's little reward for Toulouse should they win this weekend. Taking into account the travel (two potential trips to Canada in three weeks), would it not be worthwhile Toulouse sending a reserve side this time?

It can't be strategised any other way, the best strategy is to qualify for the final as soon as possible and not risk having to take the field in another knock out game.

I've told you. Highest ranked team based on league position play at home.

They would have this week off if they fielded a reserve side?

If they win (which was inferred in the quote) they get an additional week off

So we are crystal clear. The winners of York vs Featherstone play the losers of Toronto vs Toulouse in either Canada or France depending on who loses (Semi-Final) with the winner of Toronto vs Toulouse going into the final. Final is played at the home of highest rank team of who is left. So York or Featherstone will always play away after this weekend.

Yes or in Fev’s case they will play every game away from home which is why it’s important to finish as high as you can.

Too true but the same for York too. To get to the final whoever wins on Saturday have to go to Toronto and Toulouse its just the order that they go in

I was thinking of booking a trip for the final but am now worried as it could be played elsewhere, that's the reason for my question

Thanks

It will be in Toronto unless Tolouse beat them in which case it will be in Tolouse.

Finish 1st and you are guaranteed 2 home games (max 3 if you make the final after losing 1st game)

2nd guaranteed 1 home game (max 2 if you reach the final and 1st don't)

3rd no guaranteed home games (max 1 which would be the final if either 4th or 5th also make it)

4th guaranteed 1 home game only

5th 0 home games
