Well it all depends.  If the relationship with Union keeps going and some larger Union sides in Toronto start running a League Side...maybe as early as 4 years.  If that did not happen then I would say probably double that anyway.

Its important to get Ottawa in since they plan to develop and they have the perfect storm there at this moment to do just that.

The player quota rule needs to quickly be amended to allow us to sign Canadian players without being penalized....this could be easily done and I simply can't believe they have not done it yet.

There are also other issues.  There are also many positives happening at the moment.

Canadian, US & Jamaican players do not count on the quota for your good selves Kayakman. C1:4:2 Operational Rules.

Many, many women, i would say they outnumber the men...of all ages too...everybody laughing and joking.  Shouting out to their friends, going over to see them even in the middle of the game...not even knowing or really caring what is happening on the field.

...and therein lies your problem

It all depends on the game somewhat....sometimes more....sometimes less.  its interesting to watch the sort of 'newbies' : for them this is an exciting social event and can't be missed!  Many have never even see n a rugby ball up close I tell ya.

What I am trying to tell you is: Its hot man!....RED HOT!  I took my buddy there against Toulouse and he could not take his eyes off all the women...it was real hot out....almost gave the poor lad a heart attack...a word of advice for you if you are coming over...the biggest pickup area is in the mad house beer garden.

Dont need to put an event on then. Just charge 40 dollars admission into the stadium and shout out to your friends and socialise with them. The rugby is immaterial. Wonder if Mark Campbell has cottoned on to that idea yet. Save on players wages??????

I like the look of Lamport Stadium.

What 2 big slabs of concrete wedged against each other on each side with no roof / ends ?  Without the blue sky and big city backdrop that is by no means a nice looking 'stadium'.  An ageing second rate college football pitch with some cheap bleachers at best.

Bit like Sheffields on a slightly grander scale?

But there is something about salary cap and having so many British players and you can only have so many of this or that/I don't know the exact details of it but it appears to be a disadvantage or something.Thats why we had to let go one of thew heritage players before or something.

Your in the RFL structure, you can have as many British as you require within squad size rules. (As the Governing Body wouldn't want to handicap the test side) Same goes for Canadians, US & Jamaicans, you probably had too many Aussies / Kiwis if that was the case?

Just wanted to say, that was a heck of an effort, against the odds, guys. Your week of travelling couldn't have helped, but you still gave them something to think about.

On the plus side, for me - we get to play you again next season. Looking forward to that.

Thats the part that I mean and I just don't get.  If for the Wolfpack they were to drop the British quota down and make that Canadian players we would not have to get rid of our others....that is the thing they need to change I think.

That would really help us out alot to have more Canadians on board in the future.

They were insulting the stadium of my club for no good reason whatsoever, you don't have to take that...but its your club thread so Adios for now.

You guys played a great Grand Final...best of luck in the future.

And best of luck to you. I have reservations with McDermott's comments however. His dream of big city clubs from wider Europe and North America is a nice idea, but the only way forward for that would be for the 4-6 biggest English clubs to leave and join an international league and leave our "smaller northern town clubs" alone to get on with the sport we invented. The trouble is we would probably lose many famous clubs in the interim to make way for the new Paris's (for a 2nd time), Barcelona's and such. I think the only way to accommodate this would be to initially expand Super League to 14 or 16 clubs then split into two leagues of 10 if the growth is still there.

As shown over the last few weeks, however, TV and other media exposure is the key to growing the game outside Super League.

Personal preference, obviously, but I like concrete/brutalist arcitecture, particularly municipal projects (see also: Ponte library!)

But you're right about the backdrop helping!

Having a fan base the majority of which 'do not know or really care what is happening on the field' is your problem - whether they are male or (I'll have to take your word for it) 'hot' females is irrelevant.

They'll all drift away eventually 'man'

and then let's see where Brian McDermott's next job will be.

It'll never happen in a million years........ best case for Toronto (and RL generally) is their success eventually grows a NA league of it's own.

There's already a high profile continental rugby competition with a big TV deal and major cities across europe taking part...It's called the European Champions Cup (formerly the Heineken Cup in the other code). Why would a big investor bother with RL when that already exists.

Investors don't care about codes

Usual performance from Kendall the guy really hates Fev.

Same again last night; he seemed to favour Saints. Salford’s disallowed try was hardly obstruction, yet Saints’ second try (from the scrum) saw Farge offside and later,  Dudson denied a penalty.

In your game, I think it was the 54th minute when Kendall penalised your man for shrugging off a defender when trying to play the ball and they scored from the subsequent penalty. I think that broke the deadlock and your hearts.

Legs, Dews, Legs.

Plus the fact that a man tackled got up and ran and scored a try instead of playing the ball. Your comments about the Salford items were spot on.

Don't wind everyone up about that 54th minute again!

There are some holier than thou folk on here who will be ridiculing you for such conspiratorial talk

(For what it's worth I'm sure Dewsbury wouldn't have received any favours either)

Maybe Kendal was told he would get the SL final gig if Toronto got promoted !!

The guy has his favourites and it shows.

The Salford try why not go to the video ref if wasn’t sure. I think he is one of the poorest referees around yet has got 2 grand finals???

He has referred us a few times and we have got nothing from him.
