Bleep1673
When I enter a score in an excel spreadsheet it automatically changes the score to a date, as for instance last nights Toronto score is 24-6, Excel changes this to 24 June, how can I change this to 24-6? getdownmonkeyman
I think, you need the cell format to text.

Excel's trying to be helpful because it's detected a pattern that looks like a date, but in some cases, you have to take control. In truth, it depends what you want to do with the score. If you just want to display it, getdown and futtocks are right - choose text as the cell format. However, if you want to do some maths - eg. calculate points difference or total points over the season - you need to enter the 'for' points and the 'against' points in separate cells, both formatted as number/integer.
