Ive never thought 9’s was a good idea for a tournament over here, but I’ve changed my mind, replacing Magic with Magic 9’s could be just what we need to get some spark back into the Magic concept I think it would be s great weekend to break up the season

Yes, although I understand those saying we could have both.

I think a mid season Magic 9s involving SL and Championship/L1 sides could break up the season nicely and be a real showcase for the sport.

Its the kind of thing a neutral can easily consume and it would have most fans wanting to attend I’m sure.

If you got rid of the loop fixtures you could,as it is we would would be starting the season on Boxing Day

Every potential new event should be with a view to reducing repeat fixtures.

The key risks for me are 1. Clubs start fielding weak teams so as not to get injured, and 2. The fans commitment reflects that.

I dont think we should replace magic, it's a 60k event.

Interesting points - perhaps worthy of its own thread.

I must admit though if I had to choose to watch one or the other right now, I think I’d rather give up time for a 9s tournament.

I also think it’d be easier to convince a few neutrals if we picked an ace city like Newcastle to hold it in.
