Incredible!!! No wonder our game continues to diminish, we had a superb occasion tonight but all a lot of us can comment on us the referee’s performance.

Why not celebrate the class of Saints and the guts of Salford?

We’re our own worst enemies and quite frankly don’t deserve this great game of ours

Or just one who's up to the job. He spoiled what was turning into a classic.

Now now...we are all blinkered armchair refs on here apparently ?

Salford had a dig but Saints were just quicker in everything, driving forward, PTBs, defensive line speed etc. Salford had a go and did finish the first half the stronger but that was the only time that they were to be on top unfortunately. Salford did get some decisions going against them though such not getting a penalty when Dudson was thrown to the ground, Naiqaima getting away with a shoulder charge on Inu, a high shot on Evalds when he collected a kick and I thought there was one time when Evalds was pushed when he had leapt to take a kick.

It is a shame that Salford couldn't complete a fairytale ending but Saints are truly worthy champions after the season that they have had. 16 points clear at the top of the table and the style of rugby that they have played all year.

After all the pressure the entire Saints club from top to bottom put on officials after Wembley, it was inevitable that they would get all the calls they needed tonight, exactly when they needed them. We will never know what might have been, which is a shame, but it is certainly job done as far as McManus is concerned.

While clearly tarnishing tonight’s “achievement”, we can only hope that this sort of pre meditated hatchet job on officials doesn’t become  the norm.

"Well done" would have sufficed...

Interesting that they didn't focus on the knock on by Salford that I thought wasn't one (but interference by Smith) which they made a big deal of during the game.  Instead they do as they always do and create some controversy to take the deserved attention away from Saints.  In 2014 it was all about Wigan losing with 12 men rather than Saints winning.  This time it will be how many mythical infringements Saints got away with.

Actually, that's all rubbish.  Saints ended up being the better side in every aspect of the game.  They won 23-4, not 5-4.  Salford had plenty of time to win the game just as Saints did after their try that wasn't back at Wembley.  Saints couldn't do it then and Salford couldn't do it tonight because we were beaten by the better side in Wembley and Salford were beaten by the better side tonight.  End of story.

I'm afraid you can't introduce the sort of poison you and your club did regarding the refereeing of finals and then try and whitewash a very poor final refereeing performance which gives you a lot of favourable calls.

Absolutely, this will always be remembered as the Kendall Final. Which is a shame because Saints have been dominant enough this year that they would probably have won anyway.

I flew for a couple of hours to get to Manchester, staying in a hotel tonight and it was worth it to see such tremendous athletes at the culmination of such a season. At @Padgebought me a pint. Certainly, worth it.

I am not going to take complaints from people who only had to turn their TV on too seriously.

Two great teams and a great game.

Well I think Salford were great but this Saints team are by far the best SL team since the mid 00s Leeds team of Peacock, Sinfield etc.

Really think they can beat the Roosters next season in the WCC and I dont think they should have any problem with going over to Sydney to play it as well.

We complained about one key refereeing decision at Wembley - one.  The denial of the first try which was shown to be a try for which the on field ref didn't even go to the video ref (unlike tonight's ref which used the video ref to the full).  That was our only complaint.

Tonight, the only justifiable complaint was the knock on that wasn't but instead was interference by Smith.  There was no shoulder charge because it was front on, there was no head butt, just a rub of the head which takes place in many tackles, the tackle in the air was penalised.

However, continue your whinging if you please.  We are the champions and at 23-6 we were deservedly so.  No referee can ever, ever make THAT much of a difference.  They didn't at Wembley and they didn't tonight.

Well, it will be to you and to some other armchair refs but to most fans it will be about Salford and their tremendous effort and Saints being the best team of 2019.

Will you or your club be graceful enough to pass on the congratulations to Warrington for their victory in the Challenge Cup final which your spectacular, unjustified, hissy fit overshadowed?

Kendall literally disallowed a Salford try without consulting the video ref FFS.

Become the norm? Become? Haven't you ever heard a pre-international interview with any Kangaroos' manager and/or coach in the last few decades?

McManus employed an old Ken Arthurson/Bozo Fulton tactic. Did it have an effect on the referee, or did he just make a few mistakes all on his own under the pressure of the occasion - who knows?

Yes, because there were two blatant obstructions in it.  Even the Sky pundits didn't argue with that decision!  It was as plain as the nose on anyone's face.

Massive wraps for Makinson too; played on with a dislocated shoulder by all accounts. Still ran the ball in as always; hard as nails.

Some players in this sport put in superhuman efforts; Makinson tonight and Westerman earlier on in the year.

Makinson was astounding.  I have no idea how he coped with the pain and I hope he hasn't risked his career by playing on.  Mind you, I'm glad he stayed on really as I would hate not to have witnessed that drop goal!

I believe I congratulated Warrington at the time actually.  I also was quite vocal about how we bottled it at Wembley.

So if it's against Salford it's as plain as the nose on anyone's face but if it's an incorrect decision in favour of Saints you ignore it.

Such a shame your club disgraced itself in the aftermath.

Your club behaved shamefully after the cup final. Now you should be celebrating yet you continue to behave like this.

If my team ever wins the GF I guarantee I won't be on here moaning about stuff, I'll be too ecstatic. Unlike you.

McMannus did not complain about a single decision... he accused the ref (and in fact the whole system) of being bent.    So much so that the SKY presenter called it out for what it was, the most despicable comment and accusation made by a rugby official in living history.

Warrington clearly deserved their win. Saints deserved it today. It was a great occasion, a fine atmosphere.
