I'm the same Cars and Motorbikes going back to the 1960s no problem, anything up to 10 years ago is a complete blank. I have a photo of my current car and bike's number plates on the mobile now.

First car I drove was a Blue Mini Clubman, DPC 808 J

First car I owned was a Fiat 131 Mirafiori  RPL 678 R

How long did the Mirafiori last ?

I’m the same.

I can even remember some of the reg plates of cars my Dad drove.

BVH232S really stands out for some reason

But not the cars I own now!  No idea of their reg plates.

FNV 715 L , Morris Marina 1.8 Coupe , had it for years , lent it to a ' friend ' cos he needed a car , the Bstrd set fire to it welding the sill , I only found out 6 months later , never even said sorry

1963 Series 2A Land Rover.  Beast took us all over to the crags of Yorkshire, Peak & Lake Districts, Wales, Scotland.  Miss that thing.  Leaked like a sieve, wind blew right through it but always got wherever you needed.

Ford Fiesta MK 1, beautiful beige! I thought it was awesome because it had a sunroof!

My second car, a blue Ford Escort MK 5 with a spoiler was a beast. Bought it when I lived in Germany, LHD, SFA-W- 394. fuel injected, big engine, I had some real fun on the Autobahns.

Then got married and it did not meet my new family's needs according to my wife!

1275cc Mini Clubman GT. Great fun, a fantastic road holder, though, like all Minis, susceptible to wet weather. Milk chocolate colour wouldn't have been my first choice. I even remember the registration: ARM 587T. Bought, pre-loved, for £500, from a colleague. Sold, three years later, for £50. Must have had 50 responses to my sale ad.

Until someone parked a fiesta in the side of it. It was probably 9 years old when it was written off.

No chance , those things didn't last that long , a neighbours literally rusted away in front of my eyes ?

Mark I Astra - A63EHH think it was a 1.3

Progressed to a red Astra GTE (G989OAO) a few years later. It never leaked even in the Lake District downpours until the day after I placed an ad in the paper to sell it, and the night before someone was coming to view it in the morning!

I parked it on a hill so the water ran and collected in the front foot wells, then bailed it out with a jug, until it was passable. The buyers were taking it back to Ambleside to park up at their farm for 3/4 months until their son would pass his test - result!

It was 75% isopon by then

I'm obviously a glutton for punishment as a few years later I had an Alfasud that slowly dissolved around me.

Mine was a 1960 Austin Mini (NEY 406). I bought it in 1969. Cost me £45. A front wing was rotted and one headlight was higher than the other. The sills were solid fibre-glass. The battery fell through the rusted 'well' in the boot. The subframe collapsed. I painted the roof with white Dulux paint and it rained on it. That gave it a vinyl 'textured' appearance. The hinges rotted off the quarter 'wings' and the doors wouldn't close without slamming them. There was holes in the footwells and you could see the road surface through them. Everything that could fall off it, did do. A bit like a circus clown's car. It was completely unroadworthy, but it was my first car bought with my own money and I loved it !

I can remember my first drive after my test, but that was in my Dad's car. Up to Withens, down to Littleborough, back through Tod and home. My brother came with me and collected some snow at Withens for a school project.
