Saint Toppy 1,301 Report post Posted October 18 Probably the worst kept secret for weeks, Danny Richardson signed for Cas. Was told by someone at Saints that the initial fee is £65K with add-on's based on appearances and future international call-ups that could take it up to £90K. Good move for both parties. He hasn't really kicked on and improved the areas of his game that seriously need work (game management & defence) and he's a waste of cap space just being used as a back-up for Fages & Lomax. 2 Quote This is captain Juncker speaking. Oliver Clothesoff 2,696 Report post Posted October 18 Think he showed signs of improvement in the games he did play in 2019 from some of the weaknesses in his game in 2018 but it was hard not being back Fages when he returned to fitness. Richardson provided some great memories in his short-time at Saints, Warrington at Home and Leeds away spring to mind, and I think some are doing him a disservice. I hope we don’t live to regret this move.

Be interesting to see if he does 'kick on' at Cas why Saints were unable to harness the talent he undoubtedly has. No doubt this is a bit of a risk for Cas having such a young halves pairing but with senior figures like Watts, McShane and Shenton about you'd hope that wasn't a big problem. Clogiron 1,348 Report post Posted October 18 Well he won't be short of coaches to guide him in half back play, it looks to have helped Trueman to develop.
John Boriston 75 Report post Posted October 18 (edited) He would been better advised to have signed for Salford, evidence suggests he would have kicked on there. He may have had to accept less money, but in the medium to long term he would have gained, IMO. Edited October 18 by John Boriston

MattSantos 676 Report post Posted October 18 No evidence at all. If anything, Cas have shown that they can take a 'discarded' 7 and make him International class. Damn you Cas. Damn you

DavidM 7,288 Report post Posted October 18 Good move for him . Lot of potential in this lad . Maybe plateaued out a bit but Cas looks a good place to try and kick on again.
MattSantos 676 Report post Posted October 18 If Blake Austin can make an International squad then this could be a great move.

Davo5 3,187 Report post Posted October 19 Good move for the lad, hopefully he can kick on and fulfill his potential,he's still young and it will be intriguing to see how his and Truemans partnership develops.
Judder Man 1 Report post Posted October 20 If Powell gets this partnership to work then Cas will have stability in the halves for a good few years.
