Duel Reg

Recommended Posts

What’s people’s thoughts on the duel reg with pro teams next year where player aid signed can come back and play for the parent club if not selected to play for there pro club.

With introduction of the reserves team for most super league clubs next year would this benefit more teams like Whitehaven, Town & Barrow??

It’s already in place in Cumbria League, players can return to their Amateur club, but that level is a big drop. NCL clubs are not allowed DR, and can’t see it changing.

Contracted players are allowed to dual register with community clubs playing in the RL controlled competitions  ( NWML . YML etc ) and have been for at least the last 2 seasons . NCL , an affiliate League  , does not allow such players  within their competition and there is no move to change that position for next season.

What will be changing subject to Tier  1-3 rules being amended by RFL Council is the removal of ' terms and conditions ' players and  their effective replacement with amateur registrations at Pro level. That is a process beyond the remit of the Community game but the NCL have been in close discussions with the RFL on the subject and I believe influenced the  offer for players and members alike as best they could. The RFL have certainly consulted and listened.

NCL members had a full explanation of the proposals at their last meeting and have had releases since then.  Expect a press release from Trevor Hunt the NCL Chair for  the wider  audience  within the next few days. It has already been signed off by him en route to watching a game or two in New Zealand.......
