oh ffs, have you actually read what Damien said, he said (jones) was forced to play union at school, he never said it was a union school and the PE master changed the rugby code at the school that was previously playing RL!

Nothing like those pesky PE teachers that use their power to push their own agenda when it comes to sport:

His Japanese mother enrolled him in La Perouse Public School in Sydney’s south-east. It was here where he shared desks with future Australian Schools and Wallabies greats, Glen and Mark Ella.

Glen said in 2016, “We were about five years old at an aboriginal state school with a lot of white kids and one small, Asian-looking kid. Eddie was a little bit quieter than most, a little bit shy, but he was definitely one of the boys.”

Matraville Days

Despite only playing rugby league throughout their primary years their move to Matraville High School (now Matraville Sports High School) proved pivotal.

The football talent of Jones and the Ella brothers was noticed by PE teacher Geoff Mould who transformed the league-loving public school into a rugby gold mine despite a huge resistance of parents in 1968.

Bret Harris in Ella, Ella, Ella said, “… the transition to rugby union is 1968 was met with tremendous resistance from parent and pupils alike. The parents regarded rugby union as a ‘rah-rah’ game played by rich boys…”

Geoff Mould kicked league out of Matraville High whilst the Ella boys were still in primary school. Matraville would have been a huge league school in the heart of Rabbitohs territory at a time when Souths were top dogs in Sydney rugby league. So you could believe all the kids would want to play league.

You can hear Mark Ella talking about it on this podcast episode 140:

Mentioned just after the 13th minute.

Another Jones (Alan) did it a few years back, coming from the Wallabies job and taking Balmain from finalists to wooden spoon contenders in record time.

Exactly a hundred more times challenging coaching rugby league for a season playing finals and winning a premiership.

Compared to winning 2 or 3 hard games of union to win the Union World Cup and then get the Knighthood for such an "amazing challenging" achievement. Pleeeeeassee.

Anybody who gives this attention seeking dwarf a job in RL should be made to watch RU every minute of the day for the rest of their life.

Our game just does not need this overhyped fraud.

So other than that you think his qualifications and credentials are magic and his experience perfectly applicable ?

So how many days was he absent in total then? Or was it just every Games and PE day?

And did he forge the note from his Mam?
