SBW says his NRL premierships mean more than union world cup wins

Recommended Posts

Harder to win is debatable. You get to have a crack at an NRL premiership every year. Also I’d say he was more instrumental in winning NRL premierships for his teams than he was winning the World Cup for NZ, where he came off the bench in both occasions. Add to that he grew up playing rugby league so you can see why he holds this opinion

For that type of money it is the minimum we should expect.

Harder to win and it's what he grew up wanting to do. Makes sense. If he was able to win a league world cup with NZ or, dare I say it, Samoa, I wonder where that'd rank?

Of course it was.......  In 2010 on signing for NZRU he said: "I'm coming home to pursue my childhood dream and work towards an All Blacks Jersey."

A bit like when Gazza joined Everton and when asked what his career highlight so far was said ‘signing for Everton’.

And ? A genuine honest assessment I would say . Obviously a clued up guy ...?

Its odd that you seem to think the two are mutually exclusive. One thing for certain though is that SBW was an out and out Leaguie growing up.
