And when they found our shadows

Grouped around the TV sets

They ran down every lead

They repeated every test

They checked out all the data on their lists

And then the alien anthropologists

Admitted they were still perplexed

But on eliminating every other reason

For our sad demise

They logged the only explanation left

This species has amused itself to death

No tears to cry no feelings left

This species has amused itself to death

I was in Hastings library this morning, at the newspaper table, and one of the loonies was having a panic attack, because he couldn't find today's Mirror, he was cursing whoever had taken it "downstairs", & not brought it back. I pointed to the copy next to me and said it was here, and he starts, oh no, that's yesterday's, I want today's! I told him it was today's, and he says "No, that's Friday's". Someone else told him it WAS Friday, and he looked at the Guardian, which is also Friday's, and he threw the Mirror on the table and stormed off.

Gingerjon? You weren't in the library today?
