How about you?

Well I know top rugby league wingers will play into their early to mid 30s - Brett Morris will be 34 at the NRL champions Roosters next year. So do union wingers typically play into their late 30s at the elite level?

The RU salary cap is comparable to NRL. Especially when you consider union squads much bigger

So yes NRL clubs could match it if they needed to

Right.... but Radradra is not under the cap!!!!

Which NRL team, is paying 1M GBP a year... please tell us!

Do you have evidence that that’s what’s he’s on at Bristol?

i have heard from people who are fairly well in the know. (guy who told me is well connected)

Additionally It is confirmed by the club that he will be a marquee player, and they are widely reported to be paying an existing marquee player that amount.

Which NRL side will pay $1.7m/yr (1/6th of the NRL salary cap for the top 30 players) for a winger?

If so, that would leave Bristol severely restricted in what they could offer the rest of the squad (unless they’re doing a Saracens)

Probably longevity was on his mind... Longer career in union

Mate, Darius Boyd is still playing and so are the Morris twins with one even turning out in Origin this year. Simi could have done the same

Average Prem union players

https://www.ruck.co.uk/the-average-age-of-every-premiership-clubs-starting-xvs-revealed-oldest-to-youngest/

NRL

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.zerotackle.com/what-is-the-average-age-of-your-club-34190/amp/

Most NRL clubs have lower average ages than Prem clubs

Suggests Prem union longer career than NRL league career

For the third time now, he is NOT included under the cap.

So it does not restrict what they can offer others.

I think the RFU allow 2 Marquee signings exempt from the cap.

I believe it was brought in so the premiership could compete with the Top14 for the best talent, or something like that.
