Looking at records Workington Town v Widnes in 1977 at Derwent park was August in The lancashire Cup 8-6 to Town and then again in the league game in September 14-20 to Widnes. I reckon the field is to muddy for that early in the season and also Harry Beverley didnt sign from Dewsbury until 1978. So Big Harry,Muddy Derwent Park,Widnes asking the ref " How long to go" i reckon the game is November 1978 when Widnes held onto win 6-4. We are discussing the Town pack. Alf McCarron,Ian Hartley, Harry Beverley front row,Bobby Blackwood on the 13 but cant make out the second rowers.
