You do know that 20,000 is no more than the population of a single small town right?  What broadcaster would pay any serious money to reach such a tiny audience?

They need to add another 0 to the end of that figure for anyone to stump up real cash

I will say with a lot of conservative right wing govts in power atm, there is a lot of underlying support for Folau from the big end of town, so in a sordid way, SL could benefit from his signing more than be disadvantaged. I'd imagine there are a fair whack of conservative media companies in France esp Arab owned beIN Sports who would probably get behind his 'religious' cause or atleast his right to express it (if it is one thing conservative Christians & Muslims agree on is anti homosexuality) as a strike for conservative values. Anyways, just a possible observation/scenario!

It's a sad reflection on the way the world is run at the moment, but you could well be right there.

Or more likely is that conversations have been ongoing since last year, and continue in order to get these games covered.

The article was poor from Carter, with no link to Folau at all, and no hint of money, but he added both of those things to make a story.

We will see, but it would be most odd for a cash windfall to now come, and Catalans have been confident of getting a deal at some stage, even before Folau was mentioned.

Talk in the local paper that they may be close to a deal with w9 a national channel, m6 sister channel, a bit like e4 to channel 4. Maybe as soon as the 7th March game,

Great news if it happens, sky offering to film 5 games over here which means w9 would only have to  pay the costs to film 5 or 6 games.

W9 would recieve all the super league games from sky also in return, the filming cost per game is around 20000 euros apparently.
