Quality without doubt but slightly before my time.

Best pack I have probably watched would be under Peter Walsh

Rowland Phillips    Phil McKenzie  Jimmy Pickering

       Stephen Holgate             Colin Armstrong

                                   Brad Hepi

Yea another great pack, but not quite up with that 6 i feel, Eddie Bowman one of best middles i have ever seen (Jimmy up there but didnt have the handling ability Eddie had) Les Gorley probably best back rower (apart from Brian Edgar)  i have ever watched, add in Patty and the rest, nearly all of that pack earned well deserved  international honours

Unbelievable natural talent . Word for Oglanby . How good was he in those glory years - remember he won the player of the year when we won the double . What a player

We played even better in the 1978 Final against Widnes , really dominated what was then just about the best Team in the League , then unfortunately let 2 tries in during the last 8 minutes and lost the Cup , still can`t believe we lost that game .Doubly disappointing as of the 4 consecutive Finals we made , it was Derek MacMillans only Final appearance , he missed the others due to injury ,and if anyone deserved a winning medal He did . Boxer was always exciting and on his game  , but Derek was probably the most under appreciated Player of that particular era .
