Whilst it is a shame for the player and I hope he is OK, it shows the importance of the complaining by Lizzie Jones and others. This pre season screening may have saved his life.

I don't think Lizzie Jones MBE simply complained.

She was aware that only super League players were screened - after certain opposition - https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2009/jun/18/rugby-league-heart-scans-scuppered

and following the death of her husband, started work for getting defibrillators into community clubs and sports clubs that wanted them.

   Sterling work by her,and others.

Very best of wishes to Jordan Aitchison.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

It was good to see him thanking Lizzie for basically saving himself from doing real harm, good luck to Jordan and hopefully he makes a full recovery and is back on the pitch soon.

She helped our community club with valuable advice/contacts when setting up the Gavin Curwen heart screening fund which has seen hundreds of players screened and has provided defibs for the community and other sports clubs.
