I wonder if PornHub shares (or whoever owns them) are the only ones going up...

Interestingly the person you owns it (and a few others) also owns the company that was going to provide the governments 'over 18' porn checks.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

I know a lot of people, I don't know anyone who has had the virus, I don't know anyone who knowns anyone whos had the virus do you?

One of my colleagues at Royal Mail delivered a parcel to the husband of someone with Coronavirus, she was inside in isolation, and my colleague was instructed to leave the parcel on the doorstep. I thought it was cobblers but it’s been in a few Facebook groups connected to the village he delivered to and in the last few hours it’s been confirmed there’s a new case in North Yorkshire. On a side note our depot delivers to the hotel which had the first recorded case of the virus in the UK.

A shopping trip this afternoon before firing into an evening of work on this. Tesco. There was a queue at the bog roll and pasta section as they'd heard there was a delivery due. I was talking to the checkout woman on the way through and she said she keeps having arguments with people with trollies full of restricted items.

As I'm a champagne socialist these days, I got some pasta from the fresh section where the shelves were packed full and untouched.

What about bog roll? ?

We've still enough from our cash & carry run we did before Christmas!

There was one poor sod there who looked a bit desperate, I saw him very unhappily taking kitchen tissue instead.

Sounds like not everyone has realised that it's possible to wash the affected area. Probably more hygienic, too, done properly.

I've been pretty smug how our local tesco hasn't been ransacked so far, went to fill the cupboards at 7am this morning and the toilet roll shelf was bare! Because we had tried being considerate we had none left. Fortunately I travelled 30 yards to the Lidl and got a pack of 18. But this is a reason people are stockpiling as things can only get worse.

When we were on holiday in Malaysia last summer, the toilet in our room had one of those fancy Japanese toilets that heated, washed and blow dried your bits to exact settings you liked.

Coming home to standard bog roll felt like that scene from Demolition Man where people were laughing at him for not knowing how to use the seashells.

no problems where I was today.... went in two local shops and whilst having a little chuckle about self centered hoarding toilet rolls came up and both shops had plenty of rolls.  Didn't buy any as don't need them at moment but its a small town and best not say where as those self centered buggers will be hot footing it here.

Now I say self centered but I understand why it happens, never-the-less I am a little torn as how to react to those filling their trolleys with so much making a shortage when their isn't a need too.   Especially given the video from the toilet manufacturer that they have plenty of in storage and plenty of more capacity to produce more. Obviously I understand the distribution possibilities.

Good to see some leadership and effective communication on SKy and the BBC just now. First we had Nicola Sturgeon giving her latest update, nothing too drastic, but clearly articulating the position and the reasoning, showing calm and control - like a leader should at times like this.

And then the BBC had a public Q&A with a Dr Margaret Harris from the WHO, who answered general questions very clearly, without dramatising the answers, again articulating the points and rationale very clearly. Watching these things are in stark contrast to absolute idiots like Trump who are actually meant to be the real leaders in the world.

Our work will now go into our 50/50 mode on Monday where we split into 2 teams and only one lot are allowed in the office at any time. Higher risk people are expected to work more from home.

Thought the UK press conf with the PM and the two experts was very good too in explaining their rational plus not avoiding the difficult questions. Especially liked the percentage of effectiveness for each of the new primary measures being introduced.

You can buy a portable bidet cap that fits on soft drinks or water bottles.  Jet wash clean....

(another thing from the wild camping world that might be useful!)

I've just sent a note out to the great & good of our local NHS system telling them that we're now going to remote only for meetings. If they want face-to-face then that's their problem unless they have a compelling reason.

As of this evening, we've now no-one planned to be in offices of our core admin team. Our call-centre is now ready to work 100% from home and it's entirely up to them if they do so.

Our clinicians can work from home if they have a valid reason, but we still need a clinical presence on site for now.

We're moving to roughly 80% of patient appointments being video/teleconference, with the 20% reserved for those clearly in need of face-to-face appointments. No-one will get a face-to-face appointment without a clinician triaging them over the phone first.

Your local GPs will probably start doing the same, if you grumble about demanding a face-to-face with your GP and "I'm not telling you, you're a receptionist" then you're going to get nowhere except making a receptionist's life harder when it's not their fault.

If you turn up at a GP practice with the newly defined symptoms:

- A persistent cough; or
- A fever

And have not told someone that first, then you're going to put the entire practice at risk of closure. You'll still not get preferential treatment but you will harm those seriously ill enough to justify a face-to-face appointment.

Please play nicely. If you don't know what to do, that's 100% fine, call 111, they'll tell you the current advice and what to do next.

I'll have to see how I go on tomorrow , got some ongoing issues relating to a tooth infection , called into the doctors last Friday , " you'll have to see your Dentist " said the receptionist , unfortunately I don't have a dentist , so now I'm back home I'll try to sort one tomorrow , if one not successful I'll be back at the doctor's again on Monday

Your GP will tell you they won't see you with that. You won't get past the triage, and you'll be told to go to a dentist.

As I said , I'll try tomorrow , be interesting to see how interested they'll be in taking on new patients in the middle of a viral pandemic ??

You will have trouble. Mrs PBC is a dentist and says you could be very lucky but unless they are not busy (little chance) ring 111. Any decent dentist will say forget it.

so displaying symptoms? having a cold at the end of a grubby winter?

People around me are coughing. Boxing trainer, wife, some colleagues.

I am fine. Which probably means I have had it, have it but are asymptomatic, or have yet to have it. None of these is actually good.

Well that escalated quickly, for years the school Whatsapp group has been used by panicking parents to stupid/lazy to look up holiday dates on the school website, or in the kids bags for notes about non-uniform dates.

Now we have indepth and dare I say ill informed discussions around the Departments of Healths, Impact of School Closures on an Influenza Pandemic paper!

I think something like 1370 people die in the UK each day. I'm not ready to be one. I'll be following today's advice from UK scientific advisors and eliminating as much human contact as possible. Plenty to do here without leaving home. Plus no one on the beaches etc, so still able to get out and still not meet anyone. Car instead of bus, too.

As I understand it, the uk scientific advice was not to close schools as that would ultimately result in transferring infection from younger, healthier people to older, more vulnerable grandparents dragooned into child care duties.
