Twenty-one year old, lived and contracted and the disease in the UK, no underlying health conditions.

Dead from Covid-19.

So, anyone who still needs to be told it's more than just a cold and can kill anyone ...

Add the "37 year old Deputy British Ambassador who last week reported mild symptoms".

Tesco, and some other stores, have reserved 1 hour between 0900-1000 on Monday, Wednesday & Friday for elderly shoppers, only problem is elderly bus passes don't work before 0930, that gives them 30 minutes to get there, do their shopping, and check-out.

In London they can be used before 930am on the Tube and buses. Anyway most people (including me) can walk to a supermarket as there are so many in most areas of London.

I know, I had a freedom pass when I lived there.

Just did a Tesco run inbetween meetings. Absolutely quiet.  You know the middle-of-the-night quiet shop (if you've ever done that). Everything in stock except bog roll and pasta, and even then they had a pile of Tesco's own "luxury" bog roll.

The scan-as-you-go attendants were saying they're still getting abuse from the occasional thwaite who can't understand why they can't get 20 packs of bog roll when the deliveries come in. Some have been buying the three, going to their car, coming in getting more, now the security guards are telling them to "go away" in more robust terms. One of the women said "they always promise to boycott us for life, we hope they do".

Went to Tesco in North Tyneside today and they’ve introduced an Ikea style one way system round the store. A follow the arrows kind of thing so nobody can bump into anyone in the aisles as everyone is going in the same direction. Seemed to be working quite well.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

Went to Asda and they have the same one way system

Not quite thought out though - both of the outside and the middle 'long' aisles all go the same way. If you go past an aisle and have missed something then in theory you can't get back. About 4 or 5 times I had to go the 'wrong way', but checked for other shoppers first.

It was much quieter, but still no bog roll, flour, tomatoes, rice and 3 packets of pasta left. Plus plenty of spaghetti this time. No Yorkshire Tea

Thankfully got to see an emergency dentist last night and got some anti biotics for my infected tooth , bought me a bit of time

I was due an appointment for root canal work today. My dentist phoned me on Monday to tell me it was emergencies only now. It's extractions or painkillers and anti-biotics.  No treatment that could possibly cause an aerosol.

I had to go to a private dentist to get a bit of stuff to keep a filling in a front tooth from falling out - hopefully.  My NHS dentist would not see me at all.  Neither dentist had appropriate face coverings but the private dentist at least saw me and explained the reason why they couldn't do any fillings: apparently it's the spray caused by the drills that is the problem.  The usual face masks they wear aren't good enough to protect them in this situation.  I found that a bit troubling and wondered why dentists didn't ordinarily protect themselves properly given how close they are to the mouths of total strangers.

I ventured to the Supermarket and the Pharmacy here in Spain today. At my local Pharmacy the queue was 50 metres long, they have adopted a 1 in 1 out system with everybody queuing 2 metres apart. I thought I will go to the supermarket first. When I got there it was just the same only the queue was twice as long. When I was next in a young lady came out,got her phone out, stood at the side of me whilst phoning.I gave her a few choice words of where to go before 4 or 5 people after me really laid into her for her stupidity. The security man came across and escorted her to her car for her own safety.

When I finally got back to the pharmacy the queue was twice as long so looks like I will have to go early in the morning to beat the queues. However,it is far better than pushing and shoving with people coughing all over you.

Brother In law works for an undertaker in North Ayrshire. They've  had their first Cov 19 job. "Today, colleagues brought in the deceased - full body suits, double bagged deceased.  No embalming from now on, funerals max 10 people, no use of limousines."

Make no mistake: this pandemic is real.

Doesnt invàlidate the message, but the Guardian reports that "On Sunday the NHS suggested an 18-year-old had died from coronavirus but it has since emerged they tested positive for the disease but died from an unrelated condition."

Posted here as this is NOT a political point. It’s an example of a genuine error made by rushing, and hoping for understanding that things will go wrong. Also hoping for some sympathy for those decisions, even if they caused grievous hurt to innocent people.

It was a same-day decision on something from NICE that’s usually tested and ripped apart in peer-reviews for months before being let live. This one went live and was almost instantly pulled when the clinicians, including some working with us, refused to accept the advice and properly threw temper tantrums over it.

The NHS and other people such as NICE genuinely try our best but we’re having to take huge shortcuts with an aim to save the most amount of lives. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you see something wrong, we genuinely may have missed it and those of us not stuck up our own egos will happily raise hands and admit we got it wrong.

The test is simple: but for COVID-19, would they have died? If no, then it’s COVID-19 as primary cause of death. We’ve had deaths of people with it but their COVID-19 symptoms were minor therefore they quite properly didn’t get flagged on the system as a COVID-19 death.

Restricting my upper clothing to company polo shirts and company sweatshirts.

Loads of pairs of trousers but mainly using track suit bottoms.

Hopefully, I can get through this lockdown without having to do any ironing.
