I guess if infection rate is not low enough by then it will be combination of different year groups on different days, etc...plus available space elsewhere... like porta-cabins... business my son-in-law does business with will be busier then normal I suspect, although during the any summer they are always very busy delivering ready kitted out classrooms. - I'm sure they are working extra time building them now... The issue with both this and the idea of schools reopening in August will be Teachers If a school has 30 classrooms of 30 pupils each with about 40 teachers (numbers out of the air) working 39 weeks a year then simply making it 60 classrooms or 15 each will not create the extra teachers needed, plus teachers (or a majority of) have been working all through and not Furloughed so you can't just tell them that after months of very stressful trying to manage remote teaching (whilst for a lot also homeschooling their own children) you are going to cut short their holidays and past about yr8 or 9 you can't through unqualified people in the extra classrooms or have non specialists teaching - I mean I could likely explain yr9 maths or even yr10 Geography to people but I am not a teacher and despite having Maths & Further Maths ALevels i was struggling with most of my yr13 Daughters ALevel maths as I have forgotten it or the syllabus has changed to contain elements i never covered The sooner a full and open public debate starts on exactly how we can help children catch up the better - or we will have to seriously consider just saying everyone repeats a year. Lots of talk about it here (as in Reading and surrounding area) as Horseman coaches who did the Brize Norton/Wirral transport for the Wuhan ones are the local school coach company. If i had i would have said the same - i would have done what i could to round up £ to pay for the best local healthcare for them but i would have still thought putting people who might have a respiratory spread disease together in a metal tube with recycled air was stupid in the extreme. Saintslass Posted June 13, 2020 Share Posted June 13, 2020 I've just read that cases in northern Italy are on the rise again (in the towns previously at the centre of their outbreak) and there has also been a fresh outbreak in Beijing. I'm a supporter of the quarantine plans put in place and I hope we stick with that plan regardless of the pressure from the travel industry (understandable though it is) because we just don't know how this virus is going to behave. However my daughter came and said there were bald patches at the back. She showed me photos. I am not sure what happened. However she has tidied it up for me.
