Motivational speech from Wire CEO gives Wigan all the extra encouragement to hit Wires hard.  It’ll be close first 20 mins and then Wigan to rollover us.
Pies 32 Wires 16 ( Wires will only score from kicks)

I don't see this as an issue. I don't think motivation is needed, and in terms of trash talk we are probably the most civilised sport around, and in other sports we don't just see the team who has been spoken against winning.

Karl didn’t need to say anything, we should be going about our business quietly (leaders and management) and let the players make the noise on the field.

in my opinion of course.

I didn't see anything controversial tbh, he thinks we have a better squad, we were disappointed not to clean-sweep them last year and want to do so this.

I applaud the club's approach of making noise rather than going about it's business quietly.

Last one for me on this as I understand your viewpoint, but our record against Wigan isn’t great when it matters (too many defeats in finals or big one off games) I guess it’s round 1 with along way to go.

one thing though, here’s to a great season ????

Is this ‘bad blood’ business not just a bit of a publicity stunt?   It smells fishy.

I really don’t think there’s that much in it, but both clubs certainly would benefit from anyone buying into the rivalry/history element.   How else do you try to create a buzz around a match-up that happens about 6 times a season.   It’s lost it’s standing as an ‘occasion’ to look forward to IMO.

It can't be anything other than a setup, as there has been nothing controversial at all.

Fitzpatricks comments were clearly staged to make a statement, but were really rather tame.

And not having the same try music! Or any try music, which was cutting edge circa 1982

That bit doesn't bother me tbh, I wonder what it sounds like to somebody brand new watching their first ever SL game.

Super happy to see Ashton at FB and Ratchford in the halves.   Ratch doesn’t offer as much in the halves as he does at the back, but he still offers so much more than Patton IMO.

Ashton was very impressive last week, as was Burrell so it’s nice to see him rewarded too.

Delighted to see Ethan Havard make the bench for Wigan.  He is going to be a great forward.
