Top and bottom of it is, Town Haven and Barrow wouldnt survive in the Championship nowadays, there's too much money about for other teams and easier for them to get loan/DR players in. Only way a Cumbria team would work is if a merger happened which will never happen.

Erm show me who said "all" ???  I think the term DKW used was "they" and more than one person mentioned it hence the plural. Clever ######. 😛

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Us , Haven and Barrow have a big problem attracting travellers (unless we pay over the odds ) , therefore we have to run with small squads . Barrow last year had a bad time of it with injuries , as we did , and came down . Haven didn`t do too badly on that front and got promoted .A few seasons ago Town looked down and out until we signed Jarrod Sammut and he almost single handidly kept us up . The following season Jarrod missed more than half the season and we went down .Luck with injuries will more than decide what happens to our Clubs this season .

Walne, Jowitt, Hock, Smith, Dallimore, Aspinwall, Charnock, Johnson, Hulme, Forster, Cross, Spedding plus three PNG lads, Susino and Perata have all played at Barrow last couple of seasons they seem to do far better at attracting travellers and over seas players but like you say they had no luck with injuries. Our season will require likes of Caine Barnes and Ell Miller to stay fit or we wont have the strike in attack we need

The answer is having something in place to keep young promising players in west Cumbria  to develop.  Easier said than done but only that can counter the need to pay silly money to try and get a higher standard of player to travel up to WC.

A rich businessman with a vision or a merger with more than one rich businessman, is the only way forward, without either both clubs will struggle for any long-term success.

Possibly three signings this week, presumably amateurs.

Two amateurs and possibly a third experienced

He’s a decent prop in the Cumbrian league but Kev Hoban is elbras best player, then again look at Scholey, he came from Maryport and has been decent.

Scholey is an unsung hero in that team. Great to hear he's (Wilson) is a prop though its what's needed.

Do you really need to ask?

It’s good to get peoples views good or bad,but ultimately I would trust Chris’s opinion a little higher
