Does he have a future at Hull FC, rumours are he refused to play hooker on Sunday so was sent to the reserves.

Good for Radford.    Team sport, team players needed.   If Kelly can’t but into that he should go to the NRL and try his ego there again.

That’s if the rumour is true, of course.

A player should do what they're asked to do in the short run, while at the same time it's perfectly reasonable for a player to be unhappy with being played out of their best position if the club thinks they have someone better. Players only have a few years of top performance in them and have a right to make the most of it.

Kelly should play hooker but with the proviso that if he's doesn't win his place back in the halves by mid-season, the club will grant him a transfer.

Exactly my point - you play where you are told to for the team, and if you want to play a different position you ask to leave or wait until your contract is up.

The coach may well be wrong to play you there but he’s the one who is accountable for that as the boss.

Rumours.

Connor wasn’t just elevated to 6 overnight.  He would’ve been practising in that position since pre season started.  Albert knows what’s what.  He also had a few injuries last term so won’t be that bad coming back into it steady.

It’s a long season and Kelly on the bench is a big asset for Hull.  If injuries come about, he starting, if not he’s coming off the bench and scoring.

For all his critics, Richie Myler never shirks his duties and you can never criticise his commitment and attitude. He has lost his place in the Leeds side and is now playing interchange hooker with middle men running at him tackle after tackle. He just gets on with it and it’s admirable.

Not necessarily related to the Kelly situation but comparisons could be drawn if rumours have any truth behind them

On the other hand I have also heard that Kelly had a bit of sickness early last week and missed a couple of training sessions so they decided to give him a run out in the reserves instead. We have known for months that Houghton would be missing for the first game but I never heard anything about Kelly potentially playing hooker. Everyone fully expected Johnstone to be the one playing there.

Radford has also been quoted as saying Kelly is "raring to go" when talking about the Derby yesterday.

I think this rumour is a load of rubbish and we will see Kelly feature on Friday, albeit probably off the bench.

Why would Hull sign a hooker from Widnes and Cator who can also play there and then  pick Kelly?

male genitals

No I don’t think they signed him because of his male genitals

Yes, back in the squad.  No Maloney though.

Just watched the game on YouTube and impressed with Satae.  Looks a tasty player.

Is he likely to make the 17?

Less of the grooming references please.

Nothing was ever proved and I wasn't convicted of anything.

Really liked Bowden when he played for us 2 weeks ago. And he's not made the 17 this time....

And that's where DR has issues. Theoretically we could have Bowden, Savelio and Fonua lining up for Bradford vs York if Kear wants them & Radford think they need game time at this stage of the season.

Right you've confused me now. Do you actually mean Bowden?

I think my memory is correct.  3weeks ago we got 4 of your youngsters against Dewsbury, who "old-manned" them out of the game. 2weeks ago we got Bowden vs York, who I assume isn't one of Hull's 1st choice props (although he played vs Leeds I think?) and against York, in a championship game, on a narrow muddy pitch, he stood out.  A bit rusty, but quite a lot of them were.

OK I didn't realise Bowden played for you a couple of weeks ago but I have just looked at the match report and you are quite right.

However, he will be in the first choice 17 for Hull. He is an experienced and very good prop, but he has had a couple of bad injuries over the last couple of years. Presumably he played for you just to give him some extra game time because his pre season was disrupted a little.

You confused me when you said he isn't in the 17 this time. He is in the 21 man squad and will be playing tomorrow night for sure.

I actually thought you might be thinking of Jack Brown. He will likely play for you a few times this year and has a huge future imo.

Tough nut to crack?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
