Leigh Challenge cup

Good luck lads. Not going to be easy travelling over for a night game after a full days graft. Leigh may claim to be a mix of ft and pt but with 15 or so ft players that's practically the required players for a game.

In fairness, Challenge Cup dates are agreed between the clubs so Batley may have been just as keen to give the players the weekend off.

At least the club shouldn't be out of pocket with a share of a reasonable gate and only shelling out losing money.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Looking like the mostly full time Leigh have finally broken Batley down.

Creditable on a ###### night. Didn't know we had enough players to describe any as fringe!!

Without Yates , Morton , Brown , Bowman , Walshaw that’s not too bad , plus pick and Dickinson

Were all these players injured or did we go not bothering regarding the Challenge cup?

1st half Leigh (we) were very good, 2nd half 12-4 scoreline really flattered us, we only got close to your line on 3 or 4 occasions, but scored twice. You had a lot of possession in our 25 metre zone, but handling errors/decent defence kept you down to scoring just the one try.

Cheers clogdance, did Batley only have the two shots at goal.

Players Stats posted just now, it's the first one on there.

One thing about the current bulldogs squad for mine. It is not a team of star players but the players that pull on the shirt do not lie down. The Leigh team on paper is far superior to our current squad but praise to Lingard he is getting plenty of effort from what we have. Tonight we rested few of our regular starters as I am sure you supporters will agree league points are more important. A respectable score for us tonight. Well done to the players.

Yeah, 1 conversion missed & scored. No penalties scored/missed. 2nd one from the touchline, was close but just missed. Is that the correct answer, sorry if it sounds like I'm stating the obvious.
