Cardiff and rhondda have a womens team, wales and west league would be an obvious development

PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF http://www.rugbyleaguecares.org/ and http://www.walesrugbyleague.co.uk/article/8790/join-team-wales-for-2013

Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

Yeah, quite a small league but you’ve got to start somewhere and this is the challenge in non heartland areas.

I was just curious, given their suggested ambitions, whether they were looking at joining the Championship. Would mean a lot of long journeys though

Who are they going to play?

The team has been launched on the back of requests from local union players, and a few with a league background. The idea is to in the main run training sessions this season, with some friendlies against other local clubs to get some momentum going. Hopefully for 2021 there may be a league spot available, as has been said there is not a local league at the moment, but the ladies game is growing in both Wales and the south of England, so who knows what may happen.

Seems to be growing everywhere mate.  Great to see and best of luck to them.

If Newport started something then  that would be good.  Could be that a 9s round robin tournament between All Golds, Cardiff, Rhonda, in any town you wish, could be a good way to develop it.  Just a suggestion.
