Simon Hall
If our first 4 fixtures had been Whitehaven, Oldham, Batley & Sheffield, we might have had 8 points and be right up there, then this thread would have had the title "York for Super League?". http://www.alldesignandprint.co.uk Printing & Graphic Design with Nationwide Service Programmes | Leaflets | Cards | Banners & Flags | Letterheads | Tickets | Magazines | Folders | Brand Identity plus much more Official Matchday Programme Print & Design Partner to York City Knights, Heworth ARLFC, York Acorn RLFC & Hunslet RLFC Official Player Sponsor of Marcus Stock for the 2020 Season

The park and ride goes to Monks Cross and alot of other transport options are being thought about What i meant was, with such good transport links and various park and ride schemes, why would anyone feel the need to drive into the centre? We do each week mainly, because there are 3-4 of us and its cheaper to do that. It's 2 miles. Ten minutes in a car or a 40 minute walk on a sunny day. Huntington isn't much of a 'trek' from the city centre and there are plenty of bus services that go there, plus a match day shuttle that'll be implemented. That it is a stadium miles away from anything in the middle of nowhere is a complete myth. Brand new stadium just aren't built in city centres anymore, nor should they be. @GavWilson

MADREDNIGE
Having read comments in the York Evening Press from fans things arnt too good with parking. Two hours and strictly controlled, not much time to attend a game and shop or a meal, cinema, bowling etc. Hopefully it will be looked into (unless it as already been changed). Looking forward to going to the new stadium but will miss Bootham Crescent.

Looking forward to going to the new stadium but will miss Bootham Crescent. Thats in the neighbouring Vangard shopping centre next door. The stadium itself has 400 parking spaces that will be available to buy online for £5 per game, no time restriction. (Bootham Crescent has 19 spaces) If we're selling out 400 parking spaces every home game, we'll be doing better than I thought! @GavWilson

Which is also the same at the Monks Cross retail park across the road. Not sure but between the 2 of them you could have maybe 4-5 hours in total. There are places locally when you can park free and walk down.

That’s a good idea actually, P&R could be decided on the quality of drinking and nights out in the town the club are based in. Newcastle Thunder and Sheffield Eagles would be straight in, Warrington and Cas would be in trouble though.

Maybe an unfortunate hangover from when Huntington Stadium opened (on the same site as the LNER Community Stadium, for those who don't know)? There wasn't much infrastructure near the new stadium in 1990 and, of course, it was said to be in Ryedale (which, technically, it was). The club calling itself Ryedale-York for a season or two probably strengthened non-residents' impression the stadium was somewhere near Malton or Pickering! Chris Taylor
Talking about York, massive congratulations to Tim Spears (who if plays this weekend) will play his 400th career game. One of the most respected forwards in the Championship, hard as nails - but a genuinely top person too. Good luck and enjoy the game Tim. 2008 RFL Wakefield & District Young Volunteer of the Year
