Super League 2025

Recommended Posts

What would you like Super League to look like in 5 years time?

I will go for a 14 team league. Bradford Bulls have re-emerged to been the force they once were. Newcastle and York have continued their growth and are now classed as been in the rugby league heartlands. Castleford are planning to build a new stadium releasing an artists impression. Toronto, Ottawa and New York have built up a massive rivalry with each other. Promotion and relegation has ended, with Super League open to expanding to 16 teams further down the line.

Bradford

Castleford

Leeds

Hull FC

York

Newcastle

Catalans

Toulouse

Toronto

Ottawa

New York

St Helens

Wigan

Warrington

Because of the likely enforced Coronavirus break does this mean we’ll also have to endure a mid season ‘silly season’ of endless threads like this until we have some rugby to talk about again?

I have some better questions:

What is SL and RFL plan for expansion?

What are SL offering broadcasters for the new TV deal in 2021?

What do SL want the league to look like? Will it still have P&R?

That’s a lot to happen in a short time especially when you have six teams promoted to SL after four seasons and somehow Ottawa and NY have a huge rivalry with Toronto after only entering in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

There must have been some amazing Challenge Cup ties between the three in that short time.

No of course not. They have no plan, the attitude of the clubs is just to make enough money to survive till the end of the season and if someone from the outside comes in and suggests making changes to improve the sport and potential make more money they look at them stupid and shut them out
